Wow. When i first found this manga four years ago, i was put off instantly cause of the art. It looked unappealing, like it wasnt my kind of cup of tea hence I left it and didnt read it. Now when i've ran out of manga's to read and was desperately searching for one this manga's name popped up. I had nothing to lose so i've read it... and boy was i wrong! It was nothing everthing i didnt think it was.. and more. Anyhow I'm truly glad i've read this manga. Somehow it reminded me of Red River. Am I the only one?
One of the best shoujo manga ever!! in my top two!!! when i clicked on this i totally thought it was gonna be a disaster but it was so good and addicting. How the author makes you feel for the characters is just amazing. i love this manga and reread it so many times
wow i read this way too quickly :(( seriously tho this was breathtaking (it kinda reminds me of red river). i loved this so so much, the only part i didn’t like was ageha dying, he lived such a devastating life read this for a second time and i still adore it read this for a third time and still adore it— i wish i got to see shuri and sarasa when they were older (in chapter 106). read on mangamonster.net the chapters are cleaner and i think the translations are more accurate.
Timeless. I've read this series several times since I discovered it 10 years ago and it each re-read is as brilliant, if not moreso, than the last. "Basara" is a masterpiece and that's not something I say often when it comes to manga. Or ever. It's one of those stories that sinks into your bones and winds around your heart so that you still feel it long after you've finished reading it. I can't put into words how utterly, mind-blowingly stunning this series is. It has everything: gorgeous artwork; a strong, relatable heroine; an earth-shattering romance; amazing character development for both major and minor characters; a phenomenal cast you can't help but fall in love with; an unpredictable plot that will keep you riveted from start to finish; exciting political intrigue and action scenes; moments so touching you'll cry without realizing you're doing so; and lastly, so much depth. "Basara" does more than just tell an incredible story--it teaches lessens, it opens hearts and minds, and it makes you *think*. I learn something new every time I read it, be it about myself or others or the world as a whole. I'm so, so grateful that this story exists.
Chp 10, dropped. So far there seems to be quite a few plot holes. Such as why tf ppl are where they are and why certain ppl disappear during times where its convenient for the writer. Real example is the when the shoujou descend on the pirates. An earthquake happens and makes the waterfall stop and the shoujou instantly find them. And they know that tatatra is on the ship when he was only taken in yesterday, so an entire red army comes out of no where to capture him too. How long were these ppl on standby?!? But i guess the story isn’t bad. So far i feel interested, and the characters dont feel too shoujo. It feels mature, and i like that.
Can someone tell me if I’m overreacting but *** SPOILER ALERT *** I can not GET THROUGH IT KNOWING the author is setting a romance up with the red king THE ONE WHO MURDERED her family. I DO NOT MIND A SPOILER IF YOU CAN TELL ME THATS NOT THE CASE OR HE REDEEMS HIMSELF ACTUALLY???
Show stopping, mind blowing, life changing-GIRL LIFE ALTERING. This manga has really changed my perspective forever. It has this essence and theme that reveals tge reality of war in not the typical dory way. The complexity of relationships is JUST IDK i can't explain it. This manga is tattooed on my mind forever.
aghh i really liked this but it had a lot of controversial scenes LOL the ending was fairly happy though, im glad it showed them arguing instead of having a happy lovely princess-like ending tbh made the charas feel more real
