≪•..•≫ MASTERPIECE by Yoshinaga Fumi - Historical background, 18th century The proud aristocrat Jacques is sold to a high-class brothel because of his late father's debt. His first client is the novelist Gerard, a man who hates nobility because of his past. After sleeping with Jacques, he buys the young boy's freedom. Their paths will cross again when Jacques is hired to work at Gerard's house...
> Outstanding setting with accurate background, pre and post French Revolution, interesting characters and funny plot twist at the end. During the story we get to see more about Gerard's past and about Jacques's family. I really liked the pace of the story, the interaction between Gerard and Jacques, how their relationship developed and how they changed thanks to one another. A beautiful story about acceptance and true love. For those who love historical genre, this is a MUST READ!
Was going to skip this until I read the comments about how good this is and decided to give it a go. Glad I did. Definitely a good read with good story plot and I like how it ended <3
A wonderful parody of acceptance and understanding under the shadow of the french revolution!
The intrigues society of commoners and aristocrats in which plans are hacked and the word of mouth is what keeps people informed of the situation is fascinating!
The son of a noble is being sold to pay for his father debts is proud and you don't blame him. However, he soon realizes that life is not black and White and sometimes you have to take matters into your hand to reach what you want!
I love the comedic elements that were included by the introduction of the novelist work of the great Gerard!
this good. and on the last chapter i am kind of afraid to continue because it gives me a banana fish vibes... but thank god it didn't turns out like banana fish.
