Comments of Jigoku Yuki Bus

This compilation has a lot more going on under the surface than it seems. The first story appears to be the record of a series of squabbles between the insecure uke, Kan-chan, and his overly confident lover, Osamu, but turns out to be an elody to the psychological after-effects of death, grief, loss and abandonment, with hints of suicide. I like the underlying profoundness, which makes up for a certain pedestrian quality to Meiji Kanako's art. The second story tackles the same themes, but with a man whose parents abandoned him as a child, and the measures he takes to ensure he is never alone, but never loved. These stories are very bleak and, yet, if you can move past the melancholia, so beautiful and rich.

first story (ch 1-2) was really good -> 5 stars
second story was soso, because I didn't like the ending - totally disappointed the seme choose Hira (it didn't even have to be Teru, but just not Hira please :/)
And it was really weird that Hira sold himself for his school fees but then not really going to school ('sometimes' as he mumbled to himself) o.O
And in the end he could just have persuaded his parents if he begged them on his knees as he said :/

If I ever reread this manga again I will only reread ch 1 -2!

two stories, the first about a materialistic man and his laid back boyfriend. the second about a guy obsessed with his cousin and sleeping with an underage prostitute to forget past trauma. the art is not great, and i disliked the uke in the first story, although he does mature. i also thought the way the seme lied to him about getting married, the thing the uke feared the most, was pretty f-ing crappy. the second story is on the edge of creepy, but turns out ok.

the second one was good, I like the mangaka's ability to keep the readers uncertain about the endings in several of her stories. I was surprised because it started by focusing on Teru and Kishi but developed into Kishi and Hira, I love it when stories have natural progression like that instead of playing out like some mangas that focus on the same two people from the beginning.

God, this is sadly beautiful.

First story is cliche and shallow. Second story was an attempt at the virgin/whore dichotomy that was poorly conceived and poorly executed.

Unique, very different from usual yaoi. Not quite sure if I like or not

First story the seme lies about having a fiance. Second story unsatisfying

don't read the second story!!!!

I enjoyed Osamu and Kan-chan story the most all that love there even with that marriage lie!! You can tell how much Osamu really loves Kan-chan with all his heart!! I am glad they are together!! As for that cousin story I don't like Hira who is the prostitute!! I know he was just there for the money even if he did have a little feelings for Kishi he was not going to stop prostituting himself out because he likes the money!! I think Hira stayed around because Kishi likes his cousin Teru and Hira was jealous!! I think Hira just wanted to have somewhere to stay so he wouldn't have to go home and to school!! I feel that that story wasn't finish just because Kishi went to see Hira!! I want to know who did Kishi really end up with Teru or Hira? What I think is Kishi should find someone his own age to play with!! Just a thought!!! thx D

Why does every story by this author end so suddenly?! Almost every story seems like it could go on for another 3 volumes, but no! it ends right there! Just WHY!??! When I went more I turn the page, and it takes me to the end page?!? Man the story and art is so good, I like this author!

Decent, but would not recommend.
