... Maybe I should have read the whole thing, but the seme really annoyed me. I don't have much patience for half-assed arrogance. I don't mean to be harsh. I just think the mature childhood friend suited the uke better.
This started off strong, but soon developed into some very poor writing from the manganka. The love triangle was completely unnecessary and obviously threw off the manganka since the onsen scene was the turning point. After that scene, the manga becomes eratic in nature. Rushed and poorly organised. It loses its smooth flow. It starts jumping around. The sub-pairings are poorly established. The non-leads are ignorable with no structured personality. Cardboard. Pure aesthetic. The main relationship becomes irritating as it seems more and more based on weak terms. This kind of pairing is difficult to develop because it's combative, and the manganka proves either not up to the task or not interested in the effort. It's a shame since the art is very nice. But drawing and writing are two different talents. The manganka demonstrates one but not the other.
It's an old yaoi work. The bastardous seme easily seduces the stoic uke. There's a VIP class full of wealthy and beautiful people. Everyone's gay. The lines are cliche. There's a self-lubricating butthole. Basically, it is an old yaoi. Probably something I would have naively loved when I was 16 and new to BL. Considering all that, it was strangely ok, I guess. 2 stars.
