So much love and emotion... I can't get enough of this ლ(´ڡ`ლ) its PRICELESS!

A story of two male slaves forced to work in a brothel which caters to men who prefer teenaged boy prostitutes, and the subjects of competition and personality clashes, and personal longing in the midst of deflowering rituals. In spite of the trigger-y subject matter, drama and some comedy, the story is a traditional romance and worth reading through to the end. The historic details are interesting and the art is beautiful. Just take some deep breaths at the difficult parts!

The art is spectacular, but is the story that does it for me. The traditional setting, with the beautiful kimono and rites of passage, as well as rivalries and jealousies and sweet childhood promises among our lovers, make this manga a must for anybody in search for a good romance. And how often is our seme an uke at the same time? And how often does a boy look so manly, whether he has long hair or short hair? Kichou is the fundamental romantic hero for me, he's so tough and gentle at the same time, and so exquisite in his womanly clothing as he is in his western straight man garb. Love him, love him, love him.

I love it! Its just sweet and I found myself rooting for the two till the very end. It was awesome

Red-Light District, Brothel, Long Hair, Kimono, Based on a Novel - Masterpiece in brothel category! The detailed setting, the plot, the characters, the art, everything is amazing. This was the best for me, I don't even know anymore how many times I have read it already: this is a must read...so many emotions!! I have read many stories with male courtesan x customer pattern, but they can't compare to this: a forbidden love between male courtesans of the same brothel; a love with many obstacles that will totally captivate you! A tale about two young boys, with different background, sold to the brothel and destined to become prostitutes. Kichou and Kagerou meet in the brothel and they become friends, but as time goes by they grow distant and they compete to become the number one courtesan in the brothel. A love-hate relationship driven by unexpressed feelings and obtacles, but their love is the purest: nothing can saparate them!! They made a promise that one day, they will leave the gates of that brothel together holding hands. I was moved by Kichou's love for Kagerou, cause he would do anything for his princess and to honor that promise!!

Although it's a tragic story about two boys sold to brothel to be courtesans, it's not dark theme. Most are about the adorable & deep relationship between the naive prim Uke & the smart lively Seme. *ღ¸¸.•✿⊱╮
The art is marvelous with original historical details. For someone crazy about Kimono & long-haired guy like me, it's a paradise. HA+ （≧∇≦）A masterpiece of Itsuki Kaname.

I liked it and I didn't. Forced prostitution of underaged boys. No no. I like the uke but why did the same make himnsuffer so much, he could have had such an easier life if the old man had taken him in. and why were they in our clothes sometimes and the bmw??

the entire time I am irritated of Kagerou's tsundere and prideful personality. I mean that's how he is written but seriously? No chara development? Not a fan of tsunderes. The lines are also all over the place. It's like dragging to read it, maybe it's the translation but idk. This is a feedback of the manga btw, not a complain.

my all time favorite

This manga is one of the best male prostitute (red light district in edo period) manga that I have read. It features two children who were brought up in a brothel who became male prostitutes when they became of age. They did not like one another but as time passed they fell in love which was forbidden. This manga has quite a few hardships and difficulties in the plot.

Wahh ...Was that really the end? Damn that was good but really heart breaking. Really, I'm happy for the both of them knowing that they have finally lived their lives as they like without restraints anymore and such... Huhuhu... Thank you for the hard work Sensei!!! Looking forward for more of your works!!

I remember reading this ages ago new to yaoi. And now its too nostalgic. Still love it

The “princess” guy pisses me off... like the seme in the relationship has to suffer for the “princess” guy and the “princess” guy doesn’t even learn from past experiences that he’s the one who keeps putting the seme in danger because of him acting only based on his emotions and his inability to admit any of his feelings also the “princess” guy doesn’t think about the situation he’s very egotistic and pushes the seme away and hates it when the seme chases after him then feels hurts when the seme doesn’t like make up ur mind... I hate when the uke always pushes the seme away and when the seme doesn’t chase after the uke, the uke always blames the seme or when the uke is being self centered and doesn’t realize what situation there’re in (in this situation prostitution where he should learn to control his emotions and at least learn to act) and makes trouble for the seme and then the uke never learns their lesson... the seme in this story is great but the uke is mentally still a child and he’s very egotistic he says he regrets saying rude stuff to the seme but never actually fixes his behavior or way of talking the uke just expects everything to work out even if he’s selfish cuz the seme does everything for him as in resolve the problems for the uke when the uke was the one who caused all the problems
