It's bcz Mangago has a dense population of fujoshis that the shoujo & josei genre gets less attention & sometimes a little neglected here, which drove me to make a list of my non-BL interest. So it makes me overjoyed whenever other fans find my list helpful or finds something worthwhile reading from this little collection. (▰˘◡˘▰)
omg im not a big fan of teacher student love story, especially after i read hirunaka no ryuusei (it was like a big bang in my life) n thanks to your list huhuhu i found many good shoujo manga (of course bout teacher n student) n though its point kinda low but cause of your explanation i could find them right away ヾ(☆▽☆)
Yes, I know that my list is pretty biased towards my personal preferences & taste. So it makes me immensely happy when I find other mangalovers with similar taste/preference enjoying my list. these past few years i've almost never touched shoujo/josei at all (yaoi most of the time, and sometimes yuri ^,^)
And i have to agree with you, i also often find josei better than shoujo,, maybe because it portrays more realistic problems? hahaa,,, i remember there was a time (before i know yaoi) when i got sooo bored reading shoujo, every shoujo that i came across was shallow and cliched with overly dramatic mc's, and i didn't know many good josei too,, then somehow yaoi stepped into my life as savior,,,

And, Thank you so much for taking your time writing such a wonderful comment! Honestly this is 1 of my neglected & least updated lists. But, recently I have been trying to review the mangas of this list whenever I get time. So your comment makes it totally worth it! My repertoire in shoujo & josei has also become very limited after I started reading BL. But I do miss the AMAZING shoujosei that I read before. So I compiled my list with them that are memorable to me & the ones I like to go back to when I want a quality shoujosei & a break from yaoi. I believe good things should be shared & appreciated. So, it makes me immensely happy when I find other people with similar taste & appreciating them too.
BTW, sorry to say this after you have wrote such a nice message, but there are in fact some(not many) typical shoujo's here too (￣∇￣"). But I have tried my best to mention that in my reviews & they are only added here because they are unique in some other aspects. Hope they don't ruin your happy reading time (●'◡'●)ﾉ

bahaha I am much farther along in the manga than I am the anime...I watch animes very slowly. Its really good. Its kinda hilarious the male lead is like casually evil and its like "are we just not gonna talk about that?" stuff like turning people into turkeys and then fully intending to roast and eat them alive....
I like reading more too but I like having stuff to watch while I crochet...I haven't read love so life yet...I think I started it but decided to save it. I do that with all the good ones...I hate finishing them :D

it was one of my first few yaois! I only just got into bl, and only had watched Junjou Romantica (anime, my first bl ever), and still clueless about what the characters are doing in there (i was still very innocent i didn't even understand what cumming/orgasm/anal sex is),,
then i watched manga-video of Katekyo (with the drama cd) by fluffy-sama in yaoiblisscollection. (anyone remember that blog? it's so sad it's no longer around) and then BAM! my eyes were opened!
Lol somehow my first yaoi wound up being viewfinder lol. It kinda left me feeling wtf but it was sooo good lol. Katekyo is amazing though...bully semes rock lol

I understand my BL lists are way more organized than my shoujo :D Have you read VB Rose? It's an age gap...it is sorta a regular shoujo but it has way less angst and drama and is more of just a sweet romance. And the romance is slow.
Also don't cry girl. Its ending is a bit axed sadly but at least it has an ending and its screamingly hilarious I almost died.

Yes, Keishichou...I've heard a lot about that. I have actually downloaded it months ago, to read. But thanks to my BL addiction, there are spider webs forming over my "plan to finish" shoujo stash (￣∇￣")

I still plan on reading love mode but haven't been in the mood...I have a few on reserve that I know are good...but I go through shoujo phases and I'm kinda back in one...mostly cause I was watching Kamisama Kiss while crocheting and that got me back on shoujo
IKR! I had a shoujo phase last month. Finished the entire "Love so Life" & "True Love" series. They weren't even completely scanlated. So hunted them down from Otakumole (￣∇￣"). I also want to watch Kamisama hajimemashita. But my shoujo addicted friend told me to read the manga 1st. And now I am freaking trapped between whether to watch/read it 1st (╯°Д °)╯╧╧ Cause I love reading more than watching. But reading takes up more time than watching（￣へ￣）
Love mode is my top 2nd, all time fav BL! I still re-read it time to time <3
