That's the only reason. Ataru is exactly an unwanted child, and since he is in his mother's womb maybe he could feel it already. And it made scar in his heart uncounsiously. And the father, since he traumatized and couldn't forgive his past, he countinously let that incident hurt him deeply everyday. And since he was forced to accept ataru, the wound became deeper than he thought. Feel sorry for both of them. Actually, they hated each other...
