Well historically people got married early because the longevity of a persons life span was short so families wanted their children to procreate fast and while women may mature faster than men males will start to produce sperm around the age of 11-14 (gross ik but it is biology). So yes the mom is messed up in the head for causing her son to develop a phobia but that's how it was historically speaking

Yeah you're right! I didn't take into account the manga's historical time (of action) and so I saw that with my vision of today's time. It's true in the old days marriages would happen at young age and they had children with 16/17/18 years old. I thought boys would start sexually maturing at age 12 or 13 not at 11. Thanks for that info ;)
