Ah...Utsukushii Koto. I must have read that a dozen times already. The sweetest, awkward romance between 2 straight guys. I can never get enough of it. Haku no Naka hit me right in the heart! The bittersweet ending slayed me. This woman....I haven't found her 1 story similar to her other work, much less other stereotypical bl novel (FILLED with ONLY sex to the brim =_=). Seriously how in the world does she write such versatile stories?!
Btw, It's a wonder to me. Have you tried her "Cold series"? I saw from your profile that you like angsty stories. So, i just thought it might suit your taste. It't highly time consuming though.
(teehehe....no problem dear. I immensely enjoy fangirling, even more so as we have similar taste ^_^ )
Haha soz for the confusion but yeah, this fangirling is definitely not top secret. Lol.
I have read the Cold Series too but the last novel is filled with so much violence that I couldn't get to like the series as much. She portrayed it so realistically that rather than angst, I actually felt fear haha...
The only work that I haven't read from her is About Love but I haven't managed to find it online :/
Yes. I do agree the violence was extreme. I was so scared at scissor scene! Σ( ̄□ ̄||). I cringed at that part. But I couldn't help loving how the seme [SPOILER ALERT if any newbie is reading this message] still fell in love with the uke again, after recovering his memory. It made me think, "wow. so even a abusive a$$hole like him can change & fall in love." I used to avoid amnesia stories like plague before reading cold series. But after that I got pretty hooked to them, thanks to the culprit Konohara sensei.
Yep. I didn't manage to find it either. I searched all "secret" places that I know of too. Either no one scanned it or all of them were removed during the "major cleanup".
Its's so sad whenever I find her works that I haven't read yet either untranslated or un-scanned. I'm thinking of buying About Love because it's actually licensed and is being sold in English but River's End is not translated or available online :/ (I'm assuming you've read the Castle Mango manga. River's End is a prequel of The MC Togame)
I have read Castle Mango. It's one of my all time fav re-read material manga. And don't even remind me of the AGONY i went through to hunt down, just the illustrations of River's end! Gawd! What why would they remove them when it's not even licensed??!
I want to buy About Love too. Actually I want to buy all her licensed work. Though I do wish from the bottom of my heart that the publishing companies would hire a more experienced & learned translator. They totally ruin the eloquent style of her story telling! I realized that when I read the better fan translation of Utsukushii Koto, Haku no Naka, Nemuru Usagi & Love times. The translator of Utsukushii even applied to some eng publishing companies but met with brutal rejection. Can you imagine that? I felt extremely sorry for both her & other fans who will have to suffice with crappy eng translation of such rare gold!
Yes! I read her email to them and the reply too! How mean of them because the reply sounded like she wanted to make money off them when she already claimed that she only wanted to supply fans with better official translation! That was just too much. So disappointing.... I'm so glad she still managed to finish her translation of Konohara-sensei's novels though. I want to buy all of sensei's works too if only the licensed version is not so crappy... (And on too of that, they're expensive too :/)
You said it!...they are mean, rude & STUPID! To let go of such a good chance of earning more! Obviously if the translation are good their customer base would also increase. Honestly I thought the translator would stop the translation. If I was in her shoes I would have, as it would be a constant reminder to that incident. But I respect her for continuing. Too bad she's busy right now. I loved her deadlock works too! (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
Yep. Her translated works are really good (and I think it's partly coz her selection in novel is good too^^).
Btw, do you know what's happening with Saezuru? I read somewhere that because it's licensed now, there won't be anymore translation. Is that true? (I haven't been catching up with the latest chapters coz I wanted to read all the chapters in one go when the series is completed :/)

Σ( ̄□ ̄) Risa-chan, not only we have similar taste but our thought process is similar too! I really hate waiting for ongoing mangas, even more so if it's my ultimate fav ansty ones. So I stopped reading it around ch.14, I think. I like to make the chapters pile up & when there's about 4/5 of them released, I read them in 1 go. And yes. It's licensed. There goes my goose.....that laid golden eggs (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜 . Well....I don't know the exact details about scanlators as it keeps going from one hand to another, if that's what you are asking. The last ch. was done by "lustfulcat". Their site is tumbler <---which I am not very good at operating. So couldn't thank them personally. But, I do hope they're daring & strong enough to continue this risky process, as I have seen many of my fav groups getting wiped off by the C&D notice.
(⊙…⊙ ) well,...that's.... Just amazing. I'm speechless. Our thought process and taste is so similar XD haha... And yes, I just saw it somewhere on tumblr about the scanlators discontinuing it (along with Ten Count too). Gaaaah... So many good manga discontinued coz of license. I'm going to be so broke due to shipping cost ╥﹏╥
I wish I was born in Japan... *sob
Don't cry dear. At least you can buy the stuff. I can't even do that! I still live with my family. So they would find out right away if I buy it TT__TT
You wish you were born in japan? I wish I knew fluent japanese! Everything would have been so much easier that way. I could just go over the raw hosting sites & read them directly from there. And imagine the unknown treasures we would find out about! Scanlation groups can only pick up a few mangas. There are many more great mangakas that we don't even know of, due to this language barrier( ̄へ ̄)
Ahaha,.. I still live with my family too. I'm about to attempt my first purchase (About Love) with a hiding spot prepared though (*gasp I'm so daring haha.. At least I'm of legal age ;))
I know a bit of Japanese but as expected, reading kanji will be the death of me. I wished their official language is English (or at least use alphabets!). But yes, it's really sad to imagine that there are awesome manga that we'll never get to come across coz we can't get access to it and coz of language barrier. But then again, if they're so easily available, it's not gonna be good for my wallet either (I have so little self-control, god help me ahaha...)
Thanks! I'll try my best! (⌒▽⌒)
Oh...I love drama cds! But I don't like listening to un-translated one, as I have to strain my ears & concentration to grasp the meaning & understand the story with whatever little knowledge I have on japanese words. So I try to hunt down the ones that are already translated. My most fav are - Deadlock series, Kotnonoha series, Chiru Chiru Michiru. There are lots more but those 3 are my most valued drama cd treasures (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
What's you fav drama cd?
Hi, I couldn't manage to figure out how to reply to your mail so I'll just spam you my reply here. Haha...
I think I read it from one of your recommendation list that you're a fan of Konohara-Sensei. And yes, not many people mention her coz they're more into manga. I love all her works though. It's been three years since I finished her Utsukushii Koto and Hako no Naka series but I still couldn't get them out of my mind. Haha... (Sorry, this became a fangirling rant XD)
