No man, it's good that they're not related. I mean, I know its a manga but...incest? No, thanks. Not just because I don't approve this kind of relationship, but they would be both against the world. Literally nobody would approve this, and they would loose their parents and friends. Also, almost every manga/anime that I've seen with incest ended up showing that the siblings weren't really related by blood, so its not really an easy way out, but the obvious one.
I think this is an interesting position, and that others are correct in saying it's the obvious plot choice. I can only think of one other novel series (not even a manga) that tried to tackle such a topic seriously- V.C. Andrew's Dollanganger series. This idea of a socially constructed taboo being probed is interesting to me. In a post-graduate class I took it was suggested that notions of incest could change in the future because it came about by and large because medical science revealed that close familial breeding led increasingly to birth defects and mental illness. However, the advancement of medical technology now makes it possible to screen for nearly all those issues. So the theory goes, that the rationale for incest being bad is no longer present/ a serious concern. Even so, I think most of the students were pretty shocked because even if that's technically true, there are still a few centuries of learned "ick factor" that seems difficult to overcome. I had hoped the author might take the riskier path because the comments are so interesting, but I sorta guessed the plot would likely take the obvious path.

I mean I think the marriage problems and initial divorce was the reason with their previous partners. So them not being related is understandable. But the siblings didn't even know they were not related so all the incest feelings and people's reactions are very much real. Tbh I could care less either way if there half siblings, step or full on they are a lovely pair so idc.
I wish they were related. making so they find out there not is disappointing. The writers took the easy way out. They could have done there own thing that way and follow what they want to do, not what others want them to do.
