Sorry, I wouldn't be able to answer you. I found the chapters so boring before the last two that I wasn't reading all the chapters' pages, so I don't remember what happen to Kensei or if I even read the scenes with him.
I hope someone else would be able to give you a better reply than me. ;)

Finally!! The last two chapters seem to show that the story is going to be more interesting again. I hope it's over with the boring chapters.
The turn of events reminds me of what we had seen at the beginning of the arch with the hollows in the Hueco Mundo, when Ichigo, Sado and Ishida were running and fighting on the sand, then on Las noches.
At first, they had to fight the hollow made of sand and here it's fighters made of stone (it seems). They were running to rescue Inoue, now they're running to find Ywach.
I know it's always like this in Bleach, even in the soul society the first time, it was running and fighting, losing badly and returning to fight with great success in the end. But some fights were really great in the Soul Society and in the Hueco Mundo so, I hope we'll see more great fights with Ichigo and his new powers in the next chapters.
I'd like to especially see if one of the theories that I've had for a long time now is right: that Ichigo can have a third form while being a hollow in bankai (so one more form than Ulquiorra had). Maybe a black form like the hollow who bit Ichigo's mother.
