Serious question ! knowing what we think we know about these char. What would it take to make Asami retire , leave give up his position as top dog. does he go quietly or is he pushed out/ killed/ leaves on his own terms. what would push him to leave?

It depends on who Asami really is, because we lack much information about his activities. This is only my opinon (and my own hypothesis), but I think that Asami has some kind of agreement with the government and maybe all what he'll do in the future depends on that.

Like Lady Legia, I think there is a lot we do not know. I think it depends on what (or whom?) Asami has been so devoted to all along. Asami has certainly been dedicated something long before he met Aki. Whatever it is, Asami would put his life on the line for it. Asami is a workaholic and he would die for his subordinates if the situation demanded it. There is a lot of loyalty involved (both for him and from him).

There are a few situations where a career move might make sense. If Asami were offered something that was better (from his perspective for whatever cause drives him) and he had a good enough replacement, he might move on. Additionally, if he is 70 or so and wanted to retire, he'd have some replacement trained. But he is good at what he does and he's job serves a purpose, so I see no reason for him to move on unless business or political circumstances change.

I kind of like him as he is now--and I think having him there instead of someone else is a beneficial for everyone because he is predictable and keeps order. I don't care if he is not always nice or legal about it. I don't care if he's not perfect. He's pretty damned good (for a "bad" guy). Crushing people who get in his way is part of what makes him effective. His job is fine because he does it well.

Yes, it's important to keep some kind of order in the underworld, and for that it's better him than someone else. Maybe "Asami" isn't his real name (maybe it belonged to someone who was important to him in the past- a lover or a relative). Even about Akihito there are some mysteries about his life ( I think it's no coincidence that we know so little about his parents), there's something else, I think.

It's not a bad question. I didn't mean that to sound negative. I like speculating. :)

I find this idea that Asami is the only thing thing standing between the Tokyo underworld and complete chaos fairly laughable considering the man can't keep a limp crybaby like Sudou in line.

Yes, every one has their opin.If you look at it another way sudoh was there to allow Takaba to see his(Takaba's) importance in Asami's life. that wrap up of that chap. was a way for Takaba to understand he belonged in Asami's private life. this man that wants Asami so much could not have him . Plotwise maybe Sudoh is there to showcase what Asami can and will do. not what he has done so far.

You mean like... Yuki Eiri from Gravitation where "Yuki" came from his first love's name (His real name is Uesugi Eiri)..?

Also, there is no record of him ever leaving Japan....with that name? Because he always uses his real name?

    Hmmm... interesting xD

@ Anoni My response was not a negative. ie bad question. Perhaps poor choice of words and not directed at any one. (Not even myself) It's not enough meat on the bones. the men who are close to him are very loyal, willing to die for him. Kuroda for ex. telling Takaba he will be Asami's shield. Kirshima instead of leaving the roof chose to stay and fight . However Asami got to the top. he earned his men respect and loyalty, he would never give up his position of power esp, if it meant leaving his people at risk.Suppose Takaba pissed off the wrong people. crossed that line that Asami had to make a choice what do you think he would do? FOR SPECULATION ONLYEX. Takaba does a story that takes down one of Asami's rivals. Asami had warned Takaba off the story. he did it any way thinking it was just the same old Asami be careful. Now all kinds of stuff has hit the fan . Asami's clubs are under attack and some one put a hit on Takaba's butt. how would Asami react when his men are being shot on the street?
