I agree with you, I'm posting my 'Finder' work on ao3 but for people promoting it here is kind of off and embressing Σ( ̄□ ̄||) so I'd rather have them not posting links here and there but, this is my personal thoughts not any other author (▰˘◡˘▰) basically mean I agree with you personaly ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~

    1. Who died and made you dictator of the board?

    2. Please show me the ratified Rules of Order that outline how fanfic links and discussion are illegal here.

    3. "People know about fanfics you don't have to advise anyone about them." Obviously, this is not true, since someone ASKED. People were just being helpful and answering a polite request for help.

    4. The only one getting angry and nasty here is you. The fanfic thread was perfectly civil until you opened your big mouth.

The last battle in the Bronx lasted over a week. A poster listed a fanfic raved about it another said some things about the fic. the writer heard about it came and a holy war of the fanfics started. Writers, posters readers and trolls lasting over a week, the site was almost taken down bec. of it.It got really nasty. Any body is free to post anything they want here including a big mouth nobody like me Anonymous. there are no Rules of order as you well know. My post was not angry, no degrading terms used or did I put down any one. Sorry my mouth is so big and nasty.

There's nothing wrong with people asking for recs of fanfiction. They are asking here because they trust the answers. That people are immature babies and cannot debate in an adult manner and create drama does not mean that we should censor what people want to ask and post. I personally think we should stop Asami rape apologism, but I won't tell people "stop posting Asami rape apologies". Just my opinion.

Dear Reality bites..... February 10, 2016 9:57 pm

what the fck bit you in the ass? You are in no position to make ANY demands about anything on this page. Get off your high horse (where clearly the air is rarefied, the last battle in Bronx, what the hell are you on, girlie?) and stop shoving your fist down people's throats. The OP asked a polite question, 4 people replied, the OP thanked everyone and then, just as politely, CLOSED THE THREAD. Everything was done in an extremely peaceful manner. You're the only one fucking it up for everyone here by posting comments fit for a PMS-ing bitch. Does it not count as spam in your overworked brain when people ask at least 3 times DAILY when the next update is? No, you just have a problem with fanfiction....go drink a tall glass of water and cool your jets.

    Romanceisdead69 February 10, 2016 10:04 pm

Hmm, I don't think it's quite the right principle for authors to get annoyed at people linking or recommending their fics when said fics are posted and accessible on perfectly public fan fiction sites (like Ao3 and FF.net.) That's a bit too much of a contradiction perhaps.

    Anonymous February 10, 2016 10:22 pm

Do we really need to start naming people? What the neurotic reality bites is talking about are twin horrors Yamiga/Lidsworth, VF wannabe fic writers. Thank God they've given up on this fandom. There was no war on this board, they were arguing with themselves, posing as all these different people, they were known on many sites with using this technique. Why reality bites is dredging up the past and making a spectacle of her/himself, that's anyone's guess.

    Reality bites February 10, 2016 10:34 pm

hahahahaha. you prove the point perfectly by your post. Thank you.

    OJ February 10, 2016 10:53 pm

reality bites, you were the one to stir the pot here, when everyone was acting perfectly civil, and now you're squealing like a little girl that your point has been proven? what point is that? the only thing i see here is that you intentionally stirred the pot, knowing you would get on people's nerves. the only troll here is you.

    Well, you are right....

But for some authors they are afraid of trolls, but we could always moderate the comments now so everyone is happy yay (๑•ㅂ•)و✧ so no one could see the trolls and we author could delete comments, so I'm thinking that everyone here is correct, it's just that I'm actually a shy type of person really
(▰˘◡˘▰) and besides I don't mind if someone is promoting my fanfics as long as I'm happy and sure about it plus they asked me.

So permission is needed there's also an author in ao3 that's actually gonna be really mad when you post their work some where with out them knowing it.

    Anonymous February 11, 2016 3:34 am

Well posting someone's work means coptying the text written here...but linking here to a PUBLIC page of another website requires no permission. Once you upload your "story" on a third party site, you MUST know it's no longer under your control...but it will apply to the terms and conditions you agreed when you 'signed your contract'. Since pretty much all website allow linking in other sites,as long as money is not involved...it is perfectly fine to do so.
If you or anyone else doesnt like this.he/she can rent a webspace and make its own rules there...but if you cant link it...not even google can fond you...

    Anonymous February 11, 2016 6:15 am

EXCUSE me, bites. Since when talking about fanfic prohibited here? the only one who annoyed by this topic , and the only trouble come from fanfic topic..was from YOU, annoying ppl. I don't think writers angry at person who posted the link of their fanfics. OR, don't leave a link here, Get them know about the title and writers name, then let them googling it.

There are some ppl who replied fanfic topic in a good manners, so why not?

    so STFU!

You Guys know something.... there's no end to this conversation seriously....

go and have a look at ao3 and look in to the story any story, there should be a row that has subscribe, next chap, previous chap, and etc. but guess what there's a share button so pretty much every one could just share the fic here at mangago, yahoo, facebook etc.

But you can't be mad for someone posting a link to something on a *public site, they don't need the authors express permission because of that fact, that is super, like super duper hypocritical. That's all I'm saying. Sure it's nice to ask and all that and embarrassing if you did in fact see links to your work on this forum but your work is already out there free to be linked and downloaded whenever people should wish. It's like posting art on Tumblr and expecting everyone to ask permission before reblogging it themselves or downloading it - the internet don't work that way I'm afraid.

If an author is that enraged or bothered because their Viewfinder fic is mentioned within a forum *for Viewfinder they should consider removing it from the public realm altogether.

If you don't like the fanfic discussions, don't read them, like anything else on this board. I don't like the endless inane speculation posts. "If Asami was a rabbit, would he be a Flemish giant or a lion head?" and the resulting bunny wars that threaten to divide us all. So I just skip those threads. I don't tell people they can't talk about rabbits.

    Lala February 11, 2016 2:44 pm

Heh, bunny wars. I agree with you Anonymous, I see as spam all these speculation posts with increasingly dumb topics (sorry to those who thoroughly enjoy, that's my story and I'm sticking to it) but I don't go around bitching like a snotty child at people to stop posting about certain topics because I have a personal problem with it. To each their own, as long as they're not cursing at each other, what the fuck do I care? Unfortunately, there are people who like to just suck the fun and joy out of everything around them. Of course, under the guise of keeping everything ''peaceful''.

    tokidoki February 11, 2016 3:11 pm

If someone asks for a fanfic recommendation, and someone else answers that post, what is wrong with that? Not everyone knows about them - I found out about them only because someone mentioned them once and gave me a link, and I have enjoyed many of the fanfics since then. You are not a moderator, and the way this post has been worded is not only confrontational but also smacks of trolling. If you do not like it, perhaps you should avoid reading comments from topics that annoy you and keep your selfishness to yourself.

The author can disable the share button for their profile - I have. As a general rule, I would agree if it's posted on the internet then the author has taken the risk it might be shared, but that doesn't mean they necessarily embrace that risk.
