You know, it's kind of strange but whenever I read this series I always end up empathizing more with Souichi than with Morinaga, despite how we're always complaining about how he should be more open and Morinaga should be more appreciated, etc. But to begin with, it really is confusing to figure out whether you love someone romantically, or if you just plain love them (as in, caring for their happiness and stuff). And I feel like if I were seeing someone so passionate and adoring like Morinaga, who hangs on Souichi's every word and mood, I'd feel a bit smothered too. And like, perpetually embarrassed lol.

Souichi strikes me as someone who's uncomfortable with displays of emotion and being emotionally vulnerable, which I personally understand. Being responsible for someone else's happiness is a scary thing to deal with. (And that's not even mentioning physical/sexual intimacy, which is a whole other matter entirely... I have some thoughts on that as someone who's asexual...) I think Souichi really did think that Morinaga would always 'get it' even if he never verbally expressed his feelings. But with the latest chapter, he's realized that Morinaga will always be insecure, looking to be accepted, and therefore always ready to run--to abandon--before he can be abandoned. In any case, Souchi's been doing a lot better in recent chapters by being more honest about his discomforts, which is good. Well, that's just my thoughts on things. (⌒▽⌒)

On a completely separate note... when will they switch positions??? Power bottom!Morinaga is all I want, okay. ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

I totally agree. Though I don't prefer one character over the other. The great thing about this manga is Hinako sensei did an amazing job at giving these characters depth (despite it being just a yaoi). Both morinaga and tatsumi are both complex characters in their own way and have very different ways of thinking, and over all, feeling. They both feel love differently, and express it differently, and that's where a lot of their conflicts stem from - they are both so different mentally.

The truly beautiful part of their relationship (besides the awesome sex and great comedy relied) is that the two, throughout this entire series, have clashed heads about their differences, but ultimately learn from it, and you can see they both try to understand the other better and to change a little for them. They help each other grow. Morinaga has calmed tatsumi down and is teaching him to embrace his feelings a bit more, while senpai teaches moriginaga to not be so hotheaded and impulsive and to be more considerate of the other...anyway I love this series so much haha and truly love seeing the change and growth between the two as the series progresses

Yes absolutely!! I didn't mean to imply that I favor one character over the other, just that I can empathize more with Souichi in light of my own experiences. The wonderful thing about this series is that because it's so long-running, there's so much room to explore and develop their complex personalities!

Yeah no I understand haha I myself think more like Morinaga. And the best part about this series is that she works on the emotional development so well, and even despite it being really long already, it's not enough and she could continue the series for another lkke 5 volumes or more and there would still be so much to cover haha
