A Little fun maybe if you feel like it. story. Takaba A. has been sent on an hero's quest to find aid to save his village from the plague of bandits raiding and taking the rice crop. He and his friends(kou and Takato must bring back aid or their people will not live. every one has refused them. there last stop is in the Town of SION. Will their luck change? The saga of The Seven Samurai begins? We need the monk., ninja, swordsman, clownish guy, does not have to be in olden times. I can't see Asami w/o his guns(but that's just me). suggestions welcome. We do this here on line. what do you guys think?

Absolutely! It is a stunnign movie. And one of the fun parts of watching it nowadays is realising just how influencial it has been on decades of movies amd movie makers that followed it. I also highly recommend his movie "Ran".

Well By Kurosewa it is a classic. Done in '54 . Holly wood even did a take off of it The Magnificent 7. It was such a big hit they made a sec. This is a long movie.(over 2 hrs) you may want to goggle the story. I love it. watch it when ever it comes on tv. This was a ground breaking for Jpn. movies. Mag. 7 with Yul Byrner is shorter. Man. This is strange. A new movie of The Mag.7 is coming out this fall. this time with Denziel Washington. I would watch as much as you can.Long ans. for a short ? LOL.

RAN a retelling of King Lear wonderful picture.Kurosawa's impact as a director is still felt today , 13 Assassins directed by Miike(2011) is another great picture. Reminds me of his style of story telling.

Woops, forgot to mention that by "he/his" I was of course referring to the great Akira Kurosawa (director of both "The Seven Samurai" and "Ran".. :)

Highlight points of the story. arrival of the bandits Takaba and friends leave to find help. Meeting Asami. convincing him to help. Asami picking the 7. (Kirshima and Suoh are part of Asami's staff already). who are the the 7 ? the young one who needs to prove himself , the older man looking to test his skill, needs to escape the law , looking for adventure, owes Asami a favor believes in the farmers, needs a good hair dresser. Okay I made some of that up.(LOL) the journey getting there. and the ending. So any thoughts?
