you actually answer your own question. it's because of the horny fangirl part, we don't think about logic when there are tons of dicks dangling allover the place and our other fingers are busy doing something else (⊙…⊙ ) .. like .. uh .. picking our nose (▰˘◡˘▰)
It depends on the tastes and on the story. The comment before (here you go sweetheart) gave you a great response. This story is only the explicitation of a sexual fantasy that romanticize rape like if it were "enrapture" and do the same with abusive relationships. It's a standard fantasy and has nothing to do with real rape or real abusive relationships. And (is there anybody else reading this-please don't throw me the tomatoes) it's a sexual fantasy older than my granny, but with undeniable charm for so many people. I thought these fantasies were finished with the sixties and the sexual revolution, but we are still here reading this in the second millennium.
Not every story is for every reader. I'm sure there's something you like that many other people dislike. Because you don't understand the appeal only means that the story isn't meant for you, not that the story is bad. It is not for you. Like I know that Nicholas Sparks is not for me. There is a very very simple solution to this problem. Don't read it. Move on and find something that appeals to you.
Well said, eworth.
Simple really, some people are into that : )
But Akihito kicks ass way more than Ayase, and Asami is way more sane than Kanou. I feel like this post is aimed to start discussion, which is great. But the two manga's mentioned are nothing alike…and there are waaaaaaaay more messed up ones out there! Which are great too ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶ it's yaoi, after all...
There is no point of mentioning all these facts (about abuse) when it comes to manga cause they are all fictitious stories way beyond reality. Don't try to read manga by comparing it to the real world because mangaka are not creating manga to bring a change in the society, their sole propose is to entertain you. If you are getting entertained then its well and good if not then I recommend you to not read such explicit stories because basically they all contain these types of characters who are all falling in love with their rapist/abusers. That is something outrageous to think about when it comes to real world but in manga....I can hardly feel anything for them since they don't evoke any emotions inside me. I'm not a huge fan of this series but I'm okay with it cause the characters ARE entertaining, that's all. (not to mention I don't blur the lines between fiction and reality)
I tried to read it coz my friend keep recommend it to me. it's so... WTF. this and okane ga nai are the same. abusive seme + useless uke + countless rape means Stockholm syndrome means love. what I really don't get is both seme has so many horny fangirls. and why the fuck it has high rating??????????? Asami and Kanou are the most horrible seme ever, along with seme from 10 count
