Love=rape as a concept/misunderstanding is not exclusive to homosexual love or even manga fiction for that matter. Yeah it was unoffensive and 'SAFE' but NOT the most realistic considering it had the 'cinderella' pattern of Pretty Woman.

Not sure if you don't know what pretty woman is? Its a movie from the 90's? The generic concept being that the main problems in the girl's/uke's life will be solved by finding true love. No reason why ANY work of fiction can't copy this formula, whether its about straight, homo or cross species love, but still pretty damn unrealistic.
And about the other point, men raping women has been romanticized long before there was any yaoi manga to begin with. Ancient stuff.
That's true. And I can tell you that this rape=love theme/trope (?) is sadly as common in hentai as it is in yaoi. I've seen enough of it to tell you this.
This is the most realistic, least offensive and super understanding manga about homosexual love so far instead of all the "LOVE=rape" content, super girly uses dominated by asshole semes, or a total utopia of endless sex.
