Sorry, but this is such a stupid question. You answered it yourself. Move on.
Here's the problem you're having: You seem to think because you don't enjoy it, it's bad. So you are hoping it will get better. But it doesn't NEED to get better because it's not bad. It's very good. It's just not your thing. So you need to go find something that appeals to you. Off with you now. Go on.
Arianna, ignore the pissy attitudes. This fandom has some of the worst fans. Post something here that displeases the rulers supreme and you'll only get verbal abuse and snide remarks about your intelligence (or lack thereof) and your general worthlessness as a human being because you are not a mangaka able to create such a ''masterpiece''. They'll rip into you like a pack of rabid dogs. Not your fault if some people defend this manga like it's their first born child.
Oh please. You come on a message board and say a thing sucks just because you don't like it and expect cupcakes? People have varying opinions, a right to support them, and they're going to express them, sometimes in a manner that might hurt your little feelings. Arianna asked a question and she got an answer. If that was too much for her, she needs to either put on her big girl panties or get off the internet. You too.
To be fair though, I myself was pretty disappointed with how lovey-dovey they became recently. Kind of really liked that cat and mouse game, them defying each other. That one year break made me slowly regain interest, so here's hoping my tastes changed or it kind of gets back to that...
If not I'll just probably be a very casual reader lol.
In my opinion, though, it would be boring if they constantly play the cat and mouse game. There should be developments regarding their feelings at some point so that the story makes sense. I like how Akihito does not want to be too attached to Asami and still want to do his own thing.
What I really want the story to expand and include other pairings. I'm afraid that some readers will be get sick of this couple as the story goes if sensei will continue to focus on them. It is also boring for me if they all chase Akihito.
Just putting this here. :)
Eh, it's all subjective ;)
I've seem lots of other people expressing the same concerns as me. After all, it's what attracted many of us in this story, and it has been constantly present throughout the series. Seeing them become a mundaner version of themselves kind of put me off; I might develop a taste for it, I might not...
I've found the latest chapters extremely boring. And shifting the focus on other couples is a sure way to get me out lol. With that pace of publishing, if we have to have chapters every once in a while with couples I can't care about, I'm so out.
It'd just divide the fandom further on top of that. You seem to personally have gotten bored out of them though if you're suggesting such a thing lol.
Such a fine line between subjectivity and what the hell are you talking about? Mundane how? Mundane when? How many of the latest chapters?
Let's go back fourteen chapters and we have Akihito getting beaten by Sudou's thugs, questioning his place in Asami's life and deciding not to go back. He gets arrested and thrown in jail, then dragged back to Asami's place where they have a highly emotionally charged encounter after which Asami ravishes him. After which he basically offers to spy for Asami, gets drugged and kidnapped and hung on a bailing hook, where Sudou jizzes all over him and nearly slits his throat. Then Aki is caught in the middle of a shootout, drags a wounded Kuroda to safety.
Back at the penthouse, Asami and Aki get maybe three minutes of peace over a cup of coffee (is that your mundanity?) before their home is invaded by jack booted assassins (at which point, Aki still defied Asami, thank you very much) and they barely escape with their lives after another shootout on the fricking roof.
This is mundane for you? Because that's what happened in the last fourteen chapters and it doesn't look mundane to me. What an exciting life you must lead if all of this leaves you cold.
Not seeing it. Show me where it happens. There's been one cup of coffee in between beatings, kidnappings and shootouts. This is not how old married couples live, with like three minutes of quiet. If you're saying you're bored because their relationship has actually evolved and matured, then yeah, this might not be for you anymore.
But I'm with Meimei up there. If there was a never ending string of scenes of Asami shooting the locks off of doors and Akihito acting like he wasn't into the sex, you'd soon be bored of that, too. Human nature wins again.
Eh, why exactly do you think you are capable to tell us what we would be bored out from? Could it be that we just have different tastes?
Again, you're still missing the point. I was talking about their chemistry and only their chemistry. It ruined off the last 4-5 chapters for me, regardless of the action. It just lost that special spark for me, so I've been mourning and haven't been able to enjoy the story as much aha.
Lol... I don't recall a situation where Akihito was not into the sex once he began seeking Asami out.
I mean the dynamic between the two, not the action around it. "Crime Lord" Asami seems to be becoming a little "too sweet" and "Don't-f*ck-with-me" Akihito a little "too amiable". Their very natures and occupations should keep them in a precarious balancing situation.
But it's true I'd rather see some conflict where the game is who can top the other (not meaning sex there), rather than a comfortable mature relationship. The lock bit was only an (albeit, extreme) example... it's the "push-me/pull-me" (*cough* literally, as in tub bit in birthday extra) that drew me in the first place.
You're right, eveyone has a different preference. I noticed that in the recent chapters, sensei wanted to involve more characters and, maybe, also wanted Aki and Asami's relationship to progress at some point.
I'm not bored with their pairing actually, I just want some more yaoi actions with the other characters. I'm giddy for more. Who isn't? Hahahaha. The fandoms will be on fire and might help manage to keep this manga going for a long time. :p
This is a challenge for long-running series, how to develop their characters beautifully while also having a meaningful plot. The plots will be a hit and miss with the fans though.
should i give up on this? story just doesn't get me excited anymore. :/
