I'm torn between chapter 35/36 and chapter 47. Both scenes of rare emotional honesty, high points in the emotional arcs of the characters. But then for pure reading pleasure, there are a bunch of extras that I love, like the New Year extra, which is so perfectly structured and paced, the one where Aki stalks Asami, and Aki's birthday, pure wish fulfillment.
Don't remember the #. but the one where Asami says Don't twist my heart any more than this. (The rescue of Takaba on the ship) the look on his face is so emotional. Another fav. of mine is Takaba's return from jail. Asaim is standing at the door waiting. The look on Asami's face says it all.
I like too many. My favorites are the ones where Aki admits his feelings and the times he is smart and tricky.
Definitely the New Year's extra... mostly because I live for goading people into making this expression:

Chapter 30 - Temporary Paradise - because it is the first time Akihito seems to truly trust Asami (page 28 ...)
I like everything that drives the plot further and has character development. In a way, I really enjoyed the most recent chapters very much, because I think Akihito had a bit of an epiphany regarding his relationship with Asami and the role that he, Akihito, can play in it.
And right after that, the two of them find themselves in lethal danger - together. And in a way, that's the first time. Until now it was, initially, Akihito being in danger when Asami abducted him or Akihito in danger and Asami rescuing him. This is a situation where they are in it as a couple, as partners. Where both are vulnerable. And I love the fact that Akihito now stands up to Asami and refuses to leave him. That whole "we are in it together, we live and die together". Which ties in very well with what Akihito thought before their love making that night: "I will become his eyes and watch his back for his enemies. I don't want anyone to lay their hands on him". Still the one looking through the viewfinder. But now it's not just to observe, but to protect.
What I also loved about these recent chapters was the twist of bringing Mikhail back. And also, how intense the attack on the penthouse was. I mean, this wasn't an attack in some back alley. Asami was attacked in his very own home. The one place where you are supposed to feel save.
I also love (and I know some people don't) the backstory of Asami and Fei in Volume 2, because it sets up the background of so much of the dynamic in the story to develop thereafter. It gives the story and the characters depth, an additional layer or even layers.
I love so much what you chose. I like the twists in the plot more than everything else, and I completely fell in love with Fei's background story.
I too liked those chap,s esp. bec. they show growth on Takaba's part. I am a little excited to see how she uses Fei long in the story ,she did say she was bringing him back, that should be interesting.

Mine is a toss between chapter 35 and chapter 30, because they both have hot sex but with chp 30 it was such an emotional roller coaster
