This manga sure does emphasize the title when it comes to the tournaments but on individual performance I would say Maruo skipped the baby, toddler, pre-teen, teen and young adult steps in the blink of an eye. This is because of hard work not some miracle. To see how far he's come, this pace is frighting for the amount of years hes been playing tennis. So, although he keeps losing tournaments I will reluctantly accept it and await the day I can read where he finally beats all. Though... Ike Souji is a special case... for Maruo to beat him I can wait a little longer. Lets say another... three years in the Baby Steps universe?
