Unorigional Artist August 24, 2016 9:19 am

My dad is depressed after his brother he hadn't seen in years died it's been a week or so he was kinda ok in the beginning Albeit getting hammered and I had to leave for a while but it's been 3 days and he won't go to work he just stays in bed or goes to the garage. Idk what to do im 17 but my dad's never gotten this bad before I woulda expected this from maybe my mom but daddy never does this kinda thing other than hard drinking.

Don´t worry too much and give him time. Perhaps that´s not a depression, but just his form of grief. And grief is a normal and appropriate response to loss. We all cope differently. Try to console him, maybe get an old friend of his to visit.

it's hard to lose someone that precious to you... I know it'd be hard for him. but still I hope your dad could accept it (although it is painfull now). time heals though :')

Don't leave the depressed person alone. Please look after him closely, try to make him talk and hear him out..

Just make sure that you are always near him and maybe try talking to him. My mom went through a total break down and I had no idea what to do. It was like she was a totally different person and I felt like I could do nothing, but watch. Watching won't help though, so just always be there for him. If you need to talk, you can talk to me anytime because I know it can be hard not being able to talk to anyone about it
