When they said dead they didn't mean it literally it was more like saying that he is dead inside basically they were saying he was no longer Hirofumi although that wasn't true because he was clearly sad when he realised what he had done but that was only after kiyomine when to visit him be four he was just like a lifeless puppet

Even after having read this more than once, there's one thing I never quite understood. Izumi Hosaka was told that her brother was dead, but then a little later we see Kiyomine with a face injury after the kidnapping talking to Hirofumi who's lying in bed crying, and then in the next scene Masaya tells him he thinks it's wonderful that Kiyomine went to see Hirofumi and then uncovers the fact that the guy on the motorcycle with the knife was hired by Hirofumi's mother so clearly this is after the whole Kiyomine's rescue. So what the hell? Is Hirofumi dead or what because that really doesn't make sense to me, anyone out there who can explain this? ╮(￣▽￣)╭
