I must be a masochist for reading through effectively 45 pages of comments

reality check to some people.
- hikaru is underage but a victim of rape, does not give him the right to them force himself on his brother. he did not like to be forced so much so that he hated the GENDER of the one forcing him. then he turned around and did the same thing to his brother? in any case he should be more understanding because he HE HAS BEEN THERE BEFORE. only proves that the boy is a selfish walking asshole. he only does thinks etc in terms of what SUITS him. he blames everyone and makes himself the victim.

does he need help? yes. does he need compassion? of course. does he need forgiveness? yes. because we as people aspire to be the best sort of person. Forgiveness not the same as letting him go scot free. DOES HE NEED TO GO TO JAIL AND MENTAL INSTITUTION? ALSO YES! He needs to take responsibility for his actions. And if that means a life time of jail HE NEEDS TO DO IT!

- haruki is significantly older, it doesn't mean he can't be raped by someone younger. and it is not easy to get away from a rapist who is as obsessed as his brother. He is NOT going to be charged with Statutory Rape. To the person who said this: are you freaking kidding me? Prosecutors are not stupid you know. And Hikaru is not a toddler. He has enough capacity to distinguish his acts.

Back to age: older doesn't mean he can then overpower the younger. There are many people we didn't expect but are actually rape victims. IT HAPPENS! age and size is no defining of capability or incapability. And there are many ways to rape people and keep them under your thumb! Usually a combination of physical and mental abuse.

- the mother is misguided, she wants to pretend everything is okay. BUT she doesn't know thst her son is raping her stepson. Please stop calling her bitch and thinking creative ways to kill her and her baby.

- the baby is not even born yet. y'all small group of twisted people can stop wishing death on it or imagine that it will be a psycho like his brother.

-the father is a useless dick and needs to step up to the plate. not sure why Sensei wrote him into such a useless character. Even the stove has more uses than him.

- senpai is selfish and misguided but he has come to see the light. the reason why he is not seen in the previous chapters or current chapter is because the Author has chosen to shine the light elsewhere/focus on the brother/stepbrother family. We do not know what happened to Senpai in the meanwhile. The fact that Sensei took pains to tell his side of the story means sensei is having something in store for him at some point. (or he can be a red herring).

Thanks man you said all my thoughts.
By the way, the thing you said about the dad. For some reason I didn't pay a attention to the dad a lot.
Maybe that's cause he has less presence in this book than a chair. XD

Aww, no one wants to defend Souichirou? I don't like him either but I'll copy a half-assed defense I gave him in another comment.

There's enough drama between everyone else to progress the story so Souichirou doesn't need to be developed into a more useful character. He's fine as is being in the background. Just like Haruka, he doesn't know anyone is being raped. However he's not strong willed like her. After seeing his wife's and son's response he's aware something is going on but his passive personality keeps him from judging anyone. Rather than judging anyone in his family, everyone has the benefit of the doubt. He doesn't look for answers because he wants to see the good in his family and doesn't want to assume anyone is more right/wrong. Although subtle, he has shown he cares about everyone through the conversations we've seen thus far. He's a silent observer, takes in what he sees but will never take a side in conflicts.

You are insane but HELL you nailed every nook and cranny. Hats off to you. People are so one sided that I feel offended for ALL the characters, no matter how I hate them or how sick and wrong they are. Oh and SENPAI, can't people understand narrative and timeline? The author cannot possibly fit all the characters in one chapter when it's not yet time to feature the character. The perfect portrayal of humans is their imperfections and Senpai is human. He gets distracted and misguided but he is in love, he'll eventually get there and figure it all out.

And PEOPLE the mother and senpai are not psychics. They cannot simply know what is happening and thus act on the situation, they all have to undergo a process to find out what's really going on.

Yay, kudos to you! This is one equal opinion! Everyone is as flawed as it's intended to be. Those people who thinks the mother should die, are even worst than any rapists. You're the one who should die. Use your fucking common sense people!

Hahaha, I didn't realize there's even a dad still alive in this story. Is his name really Souchiro? He is the only S-name in an H-name manga (Haruki, Hikaru, Haruka, Hanabusa) so I think he is really supposed to be a minuscule character, like better than a rug, but not much. Do you also notice all the adults start with Ha (Haruki, Haruka, Hanabusa), and the underage one is Hi (Hikaru). And all the not-evil ones are Ha (a more watery sound, a wave), and the evil one is Hi (a more firey sound, sharp).

THIS. I knew it. There is something fishy about their names. Love this one. Thanks for this because I don't know Japanese so I cannot go as deep as this analysis.

Eh I wish I can pin this to the top and let everyone read. The other comments make my heart rate spike. This one is so measured and hits so many important points. The follow up comments are hilarious as well, idekw. Thank you for taking one for the team.
