Super cool dude who has an amazing mind for horror. Takes simple ideas or objects and mutates them like crazy. Balloons, fish, SPIRALS. (One of his better known work is about a town that becomes entranced with the spiral. Called Uzumaki). He does a great job lifting the readers brain out of its seat and twisting it. His art style is classic and timeless, amazingly detailed and perfect to tell a horror story with.
He has also collaborated with Hideo Kojima in the disccontinued Silent Hills PT (the one with Norman Reedus) if you're interested in some of his concepts of horror.

my favourite horror mangaka. why aren't you reading them yet? his works are more reminiscent of sadako where it's more about suspense/horror/thriller/psychological. he's got a little bit of a Stephen king plotlines imo
