You can try watching/reading Zetsuen no Tempest. It reminds me of Code Geass, but the story is a little lame to me. It's hard to find a masterpiece like Code Geass, been searching for one for years already.
Charlotte is also good. The MC was obviously inspired by Lelouch.

Only saw one of those so I'm guessing you mean something dark and fairly serious in plot? If I am right then try: Attack On Titan, Tokyo Ghoul (anime misses some things just a heads up), and Blood+. Maybe Ghost In The Shell as well.
