To be a homosexual means you feel sexually attracted to someone of the same sex, but pro LGBT+ people say that love has nothing to do with gender, but most people don't believe heteronomativity is a thing.

homosexuality is a person being attracted to someone of the same gender. whether its only a romantic attraction or a sexual one, its gay. thats all there is to it. breaking gender roles doesnt change a persons gender, you arent any less straight or gay for liking someone who doesnt follow social gemder norms.
I'm kind of saying if someone is gay then they are romantically interested in the same sex too, right? So then what characteristic of that person makes that someone "gay" for them, since heteronormativity isn't a thing.

I supports LGBT people but I have to be honest with you - people that share that opinion that you wrote - they are veeery small group. if you agree with them, talk with them about that to understand it better. and honestly - just because pro lgtb+ people said it it doesn't always make it true (At least not for all people)
What does it mean to be gay? Most people would say a male who likes another male. But you could take that as they like other guys sexually. But some pro LGBT+ people would say that they love each other because of who they are. But lots of people say that you don't have to be conformed by gender roles and characteristics.
