The rainbow represents the LGBTQ+ community. That Christian community doesn't really like gays

I'm a catholic fujoshi (almost an oxymoron I know xD). And what a lot of people don't understand is that it's not that Christianity doesn't like gay people or anything. Its the act (as in sexually intercourse between same-sex) that we don't believe in. If same-sex was supposed to be real, according to our beliefs, then two guys and two girls would be able to reproduce, and so on and so forth. (But that doesn't make it any less sexy) But what I hate is that I can't even use a rainbow for anything because people automatically assume I'm gay or something (I'm an artist, I LOVE all colors). People need to realize rainbows don't represent gays ONLY. This FB group needs to know things better. Anyway, there are christian and catholic gays. We don't discriminate (or at least we don't believe in it, there are some who do I'm sure). I love Milo Y ( a catholic gay), I have some gay friends. I'm catholic and proud. But I'm sad that I can't use a rainbow without people thinking I'm gay. I totally got off topic, sorry for my rambling, and unless you meant to use the rainbow in the sense they interpreted it, you should contact the head of that group and tell them that rainbows are a wonderful creation of God, and they shouldn't automatically assume you meant it as a gay-anything (unless of course you were being naughty and did ;D) because they should know better. Anyway, I'm going back to my manga cause there's a lot I've got to catch up on ;).

The problem is that many Christians cherry pick what they want to support in the bible, so they are fine with condemning people for some things, then they go and eat shellfish, or wear blended fibre clothes, or refuse to sell their daughters for goats.

The word “homosexuality” didn’t even show up in English translations of the Bible until 1946.

    Interesting article: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/adam-nicholas-phillips/the-bible-does-not-condemn-homosexuality_b_7807342.html

I didn't want to get into a talk about religiuos beliefs but your word have provoked me I admit it. That and I'm hungry which makes me grumpy. Christian don't "cherry-pick" what we support in the Bible, you obviously need to realize that there are many different "Bible's" out there. The New American Bible, The Kings James Bible. As a Catholic we use the Holy Bible. Our Bible is different from Christian bible's in many ways. For examlple, http://www.diffen.com/difference/Catholicism_vs_Christianity
Regardless, of what bible they are using, you should know (from your link) that the fact that WORD homosexuality didn't appear in the Bible till 1946, was because there wasn't ever a word for it. It was an act that was few and far between. The many Bible's have been updated and re:transulated time and time again just like the English language has changed and evolved time and time again. So before the word homosexuality exsited what do you think that called it? They probably had a different word for it or maybe they didn't call it anything but sexual relations between the same gender. These are some links on what we believe https://www.catholic.com/tract/homosexuality and http://www.ewtn.com/library/humanity/homo.htm are just some insights into why we believe what we believe. Or you can listen to Milo, he has many insights on being gay and catholic.

I love him to death, he's such a troll. Anyway, you'll probably dismiss everything I've said, or choose not to believe it or what ever. But do know that there are many lies, and false facts out there, the internet is hardly true, and I choose not to believe in anything unless there are facts or evidence backing their facts and evidence. Don't believe everything you see, hear, or take as fact. I believed many lies in my life, believed in fake facts and I've gotten into some shit because of it. But anyway, the devil's in the details. He'll tell a million truths to sell one lie. And tell a million lies to hide one truth. But anyway I'm hungry and I smell dinner!(๑•ㅂ•)و✧

I am not a religious scholar but I am a student of history, and am not here to debate the myriad problems and contradictions in your holy book. But there are quite a few hypocrites in every religion, who only use certain passages and justify their hate and intolerance with religious teachings. And if you followed the book verbatim then you must lead a very restricted life, which I doubt, since you are on this site.
A religious scholar from before the Protestant revolution had a lot to say about the inconsistencies in YOUR version of the book, have a peek ... http://www.historyguide.org/intellect/sic_et_non.html

As you so obviously said, you stopped reading. So you obviously have no idea what I meant completely since you stopped reading, please don't judge before you even know everything, it ill becoming. I'm a hetero woman as well, I'm under 18, my mother was incapable of having children, she underwent 3 surgeries, just to be able to have all of us ,
she had cancer twice, almost died all 3 times in labor, I was almost born with an std, my sister was supposed to have come out braindead with a crooked spine, she's an honor student on her way to Harvard.(I'm a child of 3) were called miracle babies because all of us survived when the odds were on us and our mother to die. My mother saved herself till her wedding night too. My God does not punish people for how they are born. Which you would know if you knew anything about Christianity. My God loves each and every being in creation. It says in my belief that all are equal under God, if you could picture the most perfect being (the supreme being) you would picture someone with infinite love incapable of evil, incapable of doubt, so beautiful that you would weep in there presense unable to look upon their face. He loves each and everyone of us regardless of our sins or differences. Even if you commited all seven deadly sins you could still be saved and find yourself in heaven at the end of your days. If you do the right thing afterwards and truly regret every sin you've commited. God does not punish us, we ourselves choose our own paths whether we want to listen to God or not is up to us. He gave us free will, the ability to listen and choose the right way verses choosing the wrong. He won't love us any less. I'm going to pray for you, not because of pity, or because you need it. But because I understand your struggle, I may be incapable of having children as well, (my mother worked in the ER for 12 years so she has an idea), but I'm to afraid to go and get checked. I'm still underage. I just graduated, it's a bit early for me to anyway. But I'll pray that you find happiness in this life, whatever form it may take, that it be true happiness, and that when your gone, that you are wrapped in God's infinite love in heaven. ~Christina(cause that's my real name)

The facts part works both ways, what proof do you have that God doesn't exist? Exactly, there is no proof either way. My facts backing facts only works with anything in this world, politics, moral values, favorite to win the playoffs. My beliefs as a person in this world. God transcends our understanding, he is something we can't even possibly envision. What does he look like? Is he even a he? He is neither human, but he created us, he is neither angel but he created them. We are given freewill, as are angels I assume, seeing as how those who tried to become devils and were cast out of heaven. But the miracles and the works he and his son have left behind are enough evidence, as are the miracles of saints, more so that the side that claims he does not exist that I believe in Him. Unfortunately, I have not gone to confession in years, our grandmother who lives with us has many complications, she's diabetic, has miniature strokes a lot, had had back surgery four times, knee surgery twice, and that's only in the past 5 years. I still go to church, y family and I just haven't had the ability to go with her, (we like to go as a family she loves church more than anything she has EWTN 24/7) we only have on car as a family of 6 our Dad works two hours away ( he has a company van). my mom works from home, my sister goes to college (she takes the car. My brother and I take care of the household chores. We hardly have time for church sadly. But I pray constantly. But when I do go to confession, which I honestly hope is soon, I've got years worth of stuff to get off my chest, not just the yaoi, it's probably one of the smaller things I've got to confess honestly. I'm not that good of a person. But at least I know it.

Yes, there are actually quite a few hypocrites in every religion, in every stature of life honestly. My grandmother who lives far away in quite a hypocrite herself, though I'd never say that to her face. There are contradictions everywhere going against everything. The problem is to distinguish the real ones from the fake ones. I've never hated a person completely in my life, and I'm not really intolerant of anything (except maybe my solder sister, she can be crazy sometimes) , but yeah, if I lived how I believed I should live then I wouldn't be here. But that's my cross to carry, you shouldn't worry about me, I'll take the heat when the time comes. Many people have a lot to say about inconsistencies in every religion. But it would be simpler if people remembered that the Bible was written by humans. The Old Testament by those who were guided bu the Holy Spirit. And the New Testament, by those who witness it themselves. We are prone to mistakes and inconsistency. Even I contradict myself from time to time. It human nature. If you believe that my God hates or is intolerant of anything, that shows me how much you know of my beliefs. I'm not just a catholic, I'm a roman catholic, under the age of 18 I haven't even had my confirmations yet, I just graduated. To say I know everything about my religion would be a lie, but the same can be said of you. I do not take religious teachings lightly nor do I take what other people say about it lightly either. No one wants to be insulted. But I believe everyone is entitled to their beliefs and opinions. This is mine and your's is your's, there's no changing that. I don't hate gays because of what they do. Nor am I intolerant of them. Because that is how I was taught. We are all God's children. Would you treat any sinner any differently just because they committed a sin? I wouldn't. If my brother lied to me sure I'd be upset, not at him but at what he did. I hate the lie, in otherwords I hate the sin, not the sinner. You can take what I've said anyway you want, I didn't want to talk about religion on this site to begin with. It makes me feel a bit awkward. I love yaoi, I even write my own fiction about it. But that's my problem, you can judge me if you want.

Okay, you go ahead a pray your futile prayers. I did not ask for your life story, I have actually read the book, once, which was more than enough, considering how horrible and unforgiving some of it is, and actually went to church, when I was still naive.
And you are failing to realize that your book has many flaws, I pity you and your delusions. And if not believing in your particular brand of faith sends me to hell ... well, as I don't believe in folklore and fairy tales, guess my atoms will just happily float through the cosmos when I die.
And I am happy (and glad that I am NOT a preaching Catholic) Sorry, not sorry.

As long as there is no sex same sex couples are okay? Incest is okay though, right? Pedophilia is okay, right? But sex between two women is not okay, I just dont get it. Have you ever thought that maybe god created homosexuality to keep the population in check? If every woman and man on earth were to have children this earth would be more over crowded than it already is. Think about the limited resources we already struggle over as is, wouldnt this be the easiest way to control the population.

Okay that's fine, and don't worry I will pray. You didn't need to ask for my life story, I only gave it because you seem to like judging people without knowing them, just thought I'd enlighten you a bit. I'll accept your pity, but I won't pity you. But don't worry you don't need to not believe in my how'd you put it? "Particular brand of faith" to end up in hell, you could even believe what I believe and still end up in hell. I don't believe in folklore or fairytales either. But when you do die, I'll still be praying for you. And do know that I'm not a preaching Cathoic, if someone preaches a couple of times it does not make them a Preacher. I think you have to get a certificate to be a preacher or at least approved ;)
I'm not sorry either, actually I'm a bit happier. Knowing exactly what kind of person you are helps when praying. I hope you live a good life regardless of you hate in me and my religion.
