the title of the anime clearly said "Hitorijime My Hero" so it is focusing on this couple. I actually like this pairing more the the main couple. (〜￣△￣)〜

Probably lack of content regarding the main couple, 1 volume can't take up a 12-episode season without horrid pacing.
