That showing of consequences and not just making up a "good" ending is part of why I think Harada's work is loved. She touches on topics that other authors will often avoid or outright ignore.

The ending's so fucking raw and messed up. It should be that way. Show consequences not cop out with a simple "happy ever after" ending considering this manga touches a very sensitive topic. IMO, this is one of Harada's finest works even though many would beg to differ because pedophilia.
