I think this was rather cute. It shows their relationship starting from a really young age to young adults. I thought they were romantically together by the end (b/c of the kiss and promise to stay in their home town), but that extra chapter (Textbook of Love) was sketchy. I guess the mangaka was showing a moment of weakness in which after Takeshi learned his lesson, he went back to Tamio 9^9 Well either way (best friends or lovers) you get the feeling that they will be together forever~
