Leviticus 18:22
Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin.

God starts with "G" and so does "Gays". Satan starts with "S" and so does "Straights". So who's really going to hell?

    1) That's in the old testament. If you're a Christian/Catholic, you should know that teachings from the old testament are outdated and should be following the New Testament. 2) Nothing in the new testament says you can't love someone of the same sex.

    Freja October 20, 2019 10:02 am

Oh no... An old book written by a dozen of old men said it's a sin... Whatever should we do? This is it guys...

Besides I don't think men have vaginas so... as long as you don't have anal sex with a woman you're good.

Too bad Jesus said in NT that you should follow OT. But whatever it's a book written a long time ago, composed of the most popular stories of that time.

God will accept you no matter what your sexuality is, as long as you believe and have faith in him

Jesus was a Jew (obviously, he wouldn’t be taking a religion that worships himself) and the Old Testament Teachings are based on the old text that they worship. Not all, of course, but parts are incredibly similar. What I said previously is still correct. The New Testament was written after the time of Christ so he wouldn’t know shit about the new teachings.

Theology was a fun elective so I took multiple trips to places— whether it was a church, synagogue, temple, or shrine. Although I’m not religious, it’s fascinating to read about their teachings. I have no qualms with religion. People being outright terrible to others for believing/not believing need to lighten up.

Bruh, I guess you didn’t study the Bible as much as you thought you did lolol what a dumbass
“Leviticus 18:6 reads: “You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female. It is an abomination.” A similar verse occurs two chapters later, in Leviticus 20:13: “A man who sleeps with another man is an abomination and should be executed.
Leviticus is a holiness code written 3,000 years ago. This code includes many of other outdated sexual laws (like stoning adulterers and brides who are not virgins, and executing a married couple for having sex during the woman’s period), and a lot more. It also includes prohibitions against round haircuts, tattoos, working on the Sabbath, wearing garments of mixed fabrics, eating pork or shellfish, getting your fortune told, and even playing with the skin of a pig. (There goes football!)

So what’s a holiness code? It’s a list of behaviors that people of faith find offensive in a certain place and time. In this case, the code was written for priests only, and its primary intent was to set the priests of Israel over and against priests of other cultures.

What about this word abomination that comes up in both passages? In Hebrew, “abominations” (TO’EBAH) are behaviors that people in a certain time and place consider tasteless or offensive. To the Jews an abomination was not a law, not something evil like rape or murder forbidden by the Ten Commandments.
Jesus and Paul both said the holiness code in Leviticus does not pertain to Christian believers.” Dat be FACTS

eh, obviously a troll. Either way, the bible is an old book from a dead language (I know but languages develop over time so technically the old version is dead) and the word for "men" also meant "boy" so yeah... your god is saying how about we don't be pedophiles. Even in the interpretation with "man", "lay" counted as sexual intercourse/rape so yeah, it also meant don't rape men on the battlefield it ain't cute.

Either way, fuck you, get a life instead of getting angry at people for being into dicks.

    Jew worship god.
Are u saying that he is worshiping himself?
Ain’t Christians and Jewish people worship the same god which is as Christians claim is Jesus( in other form other than the body form Jesus was born with)
So are u saying Jesus worshiped his own other form?

If u believe in god then u automatically believe in satan because he was the enemy of god .
So u are believing in both and still “so proudly” claim urself to be a devil follower? I know the devil’s place is in hell and it is said be the devil himself because he was created from fire..
So u are contradicting urself .
If u were a non believer, I would have blamed the ignorance. But u really sound stupid right now. Devil is in hell which is formed of fire he was formed from,
Hell ain’t a pretty place, it is a punishment place as written in all religions... while u may find urself so “cool and upfront “ and with no one gives a duck demeanor.... it is something I believe u will regret deeply .

In 1 Corinthians, an epistle of the New Testament written also by Paul, the verse 6:9-11 states that homosexuals, alongside thieves, drunkards, revilers and the rapacious will not inherit the kingdom of God. In verse 11 also, it states 'And these things were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the named of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God' The word mentions that we are 'washed' of these things, doesn't this mean that these things are inherently unclean? Isn't God's thought on this topic made very clear?

In 1 Timothy, an epistle of the NT also written by Paul, verse 1:9 states 'And knows this, that the law is not enacted for a righteous man but for the lawless and unruly, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane...' In the next verse, homosexuality is mentioned as being opposed to the healthy teaching alongside with liars, kidnappers and perjurers. As homosexuality is mentioned under being 'lawless' and 'unruly', 'ungodly' and 'sin'ful, 'unholy' and 'profane', then isn't God's thought on this matter made very obvious? Is there any way His word can be refuted?

From walking the Christian walk, I have seen many young people who are like 'New School' believers, being pulled by the tide of the world. They don't like to make others sad or hateful of them, so they search the scriptures with their mind to justify God's word by their own interpretation. From this has risen schools of thought, such as that the Bible doesn't condemn homosexuality, and that this is justified by the passages on homosexuality on the Bible being on condemning paedophilia instead, and other reasons such as this. Actually God is Spirit, and for sin the infinite and eternal God had to die for us, allowing Himself to be dispensed as the Spirit into our human spirit. Another realization that we need to have is that the word is wholly God, and that when we come to the word we are actually touching God. If God is the Spirit within our spirit and the word is fully God, it means that we need to contact the word through our spirit, this makes the word become not just dead words on a page, but life to us. So searching the scripture with the mind is just like using the wrong organ to perform a certain function - we need to activate our spirit to touch the word. This means we should not purposefully ignore parts of the word when we try to appease others. Jesus and Paul denoted specific practices of the old testament (such as to not eat pork and on circumcision) but that doesn't mean everything other than the ten commandments is annulled - many still carry over into the NT, and if God were to mention it there, you know that it's pretty crucial.

For me myself, I've had issues with appeasing others, thinking if I should be accepting, unaccepting or lukewarm (God hates lukewarm-ness, refer to Romans 3:16) of homosexuality and the like, but we need to see that in the same verses on homosexuality in the NT, liars and people who are disobedient to their parents (Romans 1:30) are also considered 'unholy' and 'sinful'. Who can aspire to a standard where they have never lied or have been disobedient to their parents? Absolutely not! God doesn't tolerate even the smallest sin, as God is wholly righteous and cannot interact or be one with sin. This means that even God loves everyone, God cannot love the indwelling sin in them, or their sins (acts). God's moral standard is even shown to be unreachably high for man, such as in Matthew 5:39 when a man who has been struck is instructed to give the striker their other cheek. Who can strive to such a moral standard? Absolutely no one! God's morality transcends our own and is something we sometimes can't understand and definitely can never reach to. So don't doubt God, our creator is righteous, long-suffering and kind - He has the highest level of morality.

Paul who you mentioned, was stoned almost to death for telling others the good news of Jesus - he also had to spend the end of his life in prison. In another epistle of the New Testament he wrote, Hebrews 11:24 states, 'By faith, Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, (11:25) Choosing rather to be ill-treated with the people of God than to have the temporary enjoyment of sin, (11:26) Considering the reproach of the Christ greater riches than the treasures of Eqypt...' Paul is saying that Moses shunned the world, choosing to be ill-treated in order that he would gain God. Similarly as Paul angered the world to the extent that he was stoned (which is brutal btw) and didn't even stop testifying until he died in prison, we must also know that the tide of the world will push back against the gospel of God, and that the world will reject you if you stand completely for God and His word. The world absolutely hated Paul, and they will hate you if you denounce homosexuality, but in this way you can be pleasing to God's purpose as Paul was. In this way, don't think about the repercussions, don't think about pleasing others, read more of His word and gain more of God, in this way you can be completely separated from the world and be able to work to God, who has saved you out of slavery, who gave Himself die on the cross for you, and who will be the only one at the end of this age after all the world passes away (1 John 2:17). When you are in front of the judgement seat of God you need a good testimony, that you rejected the tide of the world and stood completely for God's word, that you stood for the Lord and was not lukewarm for sin, that you chose to be shunned by others so you could gain Him.

Absolutely true, in the account of Lazarus in Luke 16, the master who ended up in Hades after his death even begged Lazarus to put a single drop of water on his tongue so he could be relieved of his suffering. I'm sad that many people can't heed the warning that punishment after death is so much more severe than what they or anyone else think.

This passage is actually something I've been hearing about for a long time and swayed my faith for a while. Actually the part of the Bible this refers to is in the Hebrew of the old testament while the Greek of the new testament is a lot more precise with what God is trying to convey. If you check out my response to user 'Old Bro' in this comment stream, I list a few new testament verses as well as some justifications to these passages.
