Yamato is a family/surname, not an individual name. This manga takes place toward the end of WWII, while the above linked manga takes place during a fictional war after the year 2000.

I assume the mangaka choses Yamato for more than one uke character because of associations with the term Yamato Nadeshiko (Google it or something), which would make it appropriate for the role of a "pure" uke.

Actually, I the uke in Ryoshuu Reijin is named Yamamoto while the empire he lives in is called Yamato. The actual name of the uke in this manga is Izuki Yamato though, so their names are not actually the same :)
