the bet is like this: the 5 million yen cash will be put inside a bag, and the bag will be left on a bench in a park. on the bag, there will be a note saying "please use freely". so, if a good person found the money and hand it to the police, the cheating ex won the bet and he can borrow it. But if the money was not handed in to the police within three days, the owner of the money won, and he won't give a loan to his ex. the owner did not care about losing 5 million yen to some stranger rather than give a loan to his ex. He's that bitter.
