I feel like Sword and Sen were the two characters the author really really cared about aka why they actually got a pretty happy ending. Whereas Chersi, Van and Norman are all kinda more experiments with what could happen. Honestly this is better it would of just been a repeat of the last couple if Norman and Chersi had gotten a happy ending. I am okay with this, its a bit more dramatic and dare I say realistic?
