A refreshing intake into the life of Samurai- I think they are peasants class warriors- We see couples in that hard life of fighting bandits and securing food, trying to inject a hint of romantic elements into their life.
Saijo, a young but capable fighter is smitten with vice commander Hakiji. Thier relationship beautifully develops initially, but it gets rushed at the conclusion of their story. They met each other almost 10 years ago when Saijo was admitted and Hakiji looked after him since then.

2 couple follow the previous trend, but the difference is that both ukes are not samurai materials, they are involved in laundry and household chores , but never the less, both stories are very tender and heartwarming but very superficial in terms of the lack of details and character growth!
The Final couple: Sirezawa and Nishi were a fine ending to this series. We don't see that usual love
relationships, but we see capable swordsman who invokes fear across everybody even his lover but he loyal and a very proud man, a rarity in the world Yaoi

I have to say that in this manga, I can not believe that every single one of them is tolerant of man-man relationships considering it is taboo at that time. I preferred a bit more resistance by adding characters of high authority that would torment those couples and adding obstacles to their relationships.
