i dont think that he is dead. kyoko said she doesnt have a father, that could mean he is dead or that she never met him, or doesnt know who he is. we have seen enough about kyokos mother to imagine how she would react to a child kyoko asking about her dad. i think kyoko just does not know and maybe doesnt want to know since her cold mother was enough and a father that never showed up can hardly be better. but then maybe saena did not tell him about kyokos existence.
