According to the raws & rough translates I found, they do end up together. In the past they didn't end up together, but the mermaid really liked Shinobu. So the mermaid matured and sought out Shinobu. And I think Shinobu has a burden from his family, and the mermaid is the only person who wants to get rid of Shinobu's burden.
So any kind hearted person here to tell me what happened to shinobu and the marmaid? Did they get togheter or not?
