Scanlating is in a legal gray zone. Many scanslating groups do not allow distribution outside of a their site and the few that they allow because of this. It allows them to remove all copies or have all copies of a manga that they translated removed in case the creator or the publishing company of the manga requests they remove it. Scanslating groups can face legal problems if they don't comply which is why they do not want distribution outside of their site. Also it is hard work and they are not likely to get donations if their work if reposted outside of their site.
To be honest, saying to remove the scan in the comments on here is rather pointless. Even if they do read all the comments saying to remove the uploaded chapters, I doubt it will be done. From what I know, a scanslation is editing and translating a foreign comic to English. People scanslate to share comics (manga) with everyone in English.
In my opinion, I don't understand as to why people threaten to stop scanslating when their work is put up. What is the point in scanslating a manga if you don't want it to be shared? I really have no say in how the scanslator feels since I don't do it, but why not just be proud that your hard work is being shared and people appreciate it? If the credits page is taken down, there really is nothing non-uploaders can do about it.
