Well, once he found out the titans were humans who somehow transformed into titans it kind of lost the edge it had.
The titans are more than likely victims in a living nightmare unaware of all they are doing.
Seems cruel now.
Reading back on this amazing series for the umpteenth time... It saddens me to find Eren not swearing to kill the titans as he used to... I miss his "駆逐してやる・この世から一匹残らず!!" ("Kuchiku shite yaru. Kono yo kara ippiki nokorazu" or simply known as "I'll wipe the titans off this world"). He hasn't said this or even thought about this for like 30 or 40 chapters, idk. It's like he's lost all his purpose to fight. He doesn't even know what he's fighting for anymore. The last time he had an image of the smiling titan eating his mom was in chapter 67 (or 68, I can't remember) and he just looked very sad, especially so after finding out titans are actually humans stuck in a nightmare. :((( Why does sensei have to rip my heart inside out like this??? Now I'm bawling!
