Do you think Kanou from Okane ga Nai and Asami similar? They have a similarity as a CEO, businessman, mafia, and possessive lover, right?
Also both uke doesn't have a power in front of his seme. lol

They do have some similarities on paper, however one is drool-worthy while the other just makes me want to throw up. Kanou must be the least appealing seme ever, I just don't get it xD. He just doesn't have class in the least bit, he gets mad at everything, and basically he's just plain immature. But really, I just don't like that manga lol, they're complete opposites in that aspect.

Asami : cold mysterious mature man who rarely shows his emotion
Kanou : Christian Grey, the immature bastard

i have read Okane ga Nai but i couldn't continue reading, the seme is too immature and the uke look like a girl with huge eye with awful clothes. sorry to their fans. ASAMI SAMA is killing me, I dream about him every night, and my cute akihito is the best uke ever, brave, inteligent and honest.

Nope. People who said they are the same could be delusional. LOL. their characters are way different. The first time I read Viewfinder, I was captivated by Asami's sexiness and couldn't stop reading the manga. And I love Akihito's playful and defiant nature. The couple are golden.
On the other hand, When I read Okane Ja Nai, the first chapter turned me off big time. I dropped it immediately. I tried going back and read Okane a few times but never got to more than 10 chapters. The seme is lacking sex appeal and the uke is a timid girly guy. Makes me feel like reading a typical shoujo manga.

I don't think they are similar. I started to read Okane Ja Nai a few months ago and dropped this story almost immediately too. I must have read 5 chapters I think. I don't remember exactly and I didn't read all the scenes of the chapters because I didn't find the story to my taste.

As Lightasus said it, the seme is getting angry at everything and yes, he's very immature. Asami is not at all childish. I found the seme of Okane very pathetic and the uke very stupid and empty. It's the kind of stories that I know I won't like since the start and it would be a waste of time for me to give it another try.

At first, I didn't like Viewfinder and I gave up this story a few years ago because of the rapes. But I knew I could give it another try because I didn't find the seme or the uke pathetic. I just didn't like the beginning of this story (and still don't like the rapes) but now, I see the things differently because when I read the other chapters, I thought it was out of Asami's character to rape someone. Indeed, he raped Akihito but I like to think Asami never had raped anyone before and he did it with Akihito because Aki stole his heart when he stuck out his tongue after jumping from the roof the first time they met. And I think that possessing Aki's body is a way to capture Aki's heart. Asami wants to lure Aki with sexual pleasures and make him addicted to him (Asami).

But Kanou is not so thoughful and just want to possess the uke because he wants to, selfishly. And after that, the mangaka will tell the readers that it's because of love. I mean no offense for the mangaka of this story but I can't buy a plot like this and it's not what I want to read in a story.

Nope, catching the train to Nopeville for Nope lunch. Kanou is a super jealous, paranoid man, who is almost afraid to let Ayase be who Ayase wants to be, and Ayase is kind of weak and oblivious and a little afraid to stand up for himself.

    Anonymous June 30, 2015 4:24 pm

Agree with those who can't get with the uke, either. It's like watching someone f*ck a very sad kitten.

    Anonymous June 30, 2015 4:33 pm

I would also argue that Akihito is very far from powerless. Asami hasn't yet managed to clip his wings. Look at the last two chapters. He's defying and standing up to Asami, refusing to do everything Asami wants. And he even occasionally initiates intimacy.

When did Asami go to Kyoto? If you mean that he went to Tokyo to rescue Akihito while still recovering from gunshot wounds ... Asami is very possessive ... but he did not press for details then either, he just took Akihito back and helped him recover from a kidnapping trauma.

That was to do with checking to see why Akihito had used his name, not jealousy. And Asami has frequently found a round of sex with Akihito to be refreshing when he's tired, so the trip was multi-purpose.

well i know that he was curious but curiosity and jealousy are always together when it's between couples/lovers, asami jealousy is not showing clearly but i caught this feeling his gaze was full of anger ....when he said takaba you have something to explain to me, mostly we are not Angered of curiosity but for jealousy, and the student added fuel to the fire when he asked asami to take care of akihito san" like here too http://www.mangago.me/read-manga/you_re_my_loveprize_in_viewfinder/mh/v06/c035/25/ when he said " that's far for a rat like you"

Yup. It wasn't love back then, it was a threat for Aki

Precisely, it's what annoys me in many mangas: the pretext of love gives to the seme the right to rape the uke. And to explain their rape, they say "It's okay since I love you! "and finally the uke falls in love suddenly and isn't mad at the seme because "It's okay since he loves me". Rrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

For Asami, I thought the same thing the first time I read it and dropped the story. But a few years later, when I gave another try to VF, I found difficult to see Asami as a rapist. He's more interested in works than in sex (except with Akihito). It was and still is my feeling. So, I thought Takaba was an exception that's why he raped him because he wanted to capture him, no matter what.

Besides, Asami said himself he would do everything to get what he wants and he wanted Akihito. I think he's fallen for Akihito since their first meeting (when Aki stuck his tongue at him when he succeeded to escape from him) but Asami didn't realize it back then. It's my opinion but I may be wrong.

With Ayase and Kanou, it's not my feeling. I see Kanou as someone who is really childish and Ayase as someone who is still a child, and very, very, very innocent. A sort of victim. I've never thought Akihito was a victim though.

I agree with Shroov05 who said Asami's rape was a threat for Aki but I think it was more than that. Because soon after this, Asami said to Akihito "You're mine". For me, at that moment, he's already in love with Aki.
