This manga is masterpiece really is beautifully drawn and written, the character and the era at that time substantially written, everything is in exact part. I cry a bucket every time seeing Souma, what a sad character, beautiful yet very fragile and had a tragic life. Masataka is a very cool and perfect character, looks fragile outside yet has a strong will. Both character are easily love. I agree Watase Yuu must create another yaoi, though her non-yaoi mangas great also.
As for the ending, it's beautiful but still sad and tragic, the open ending way I would like to have my own imagination of it, everything can be changed, no..no.. Souma and Masataka only have each other, Souma physically strong he won't die that easily, I believe soon after masataka finish his school they will met again someday...though I wish sensei is the one who continue with promising oneshots /extras in series.
