No problem, the manga really isn't at the most cruel part yet. It's a good novel though, Hua Hua You Long is in my top three yaoi novels so I'd recommend reading it.

Yeah ^^, but that is how it is with all my favourite yaoi novels. Hako no Naka, Hua Hua You Long and War Prisoner, they all leave you somewhat emotionally traumatised, but they are just so good that it's worth it.

I don't think it's from the same author, but it has a similar feel to it. War prisoner has a more satifying ending though, at least I kinda feel that it has.
There is a third one I started to read, also a historical chinese setting if I remember correctly, but the Uke is much more... well, he kills the first guy who rapes him. Forgot the name though.

Yeah, agree, he says he HAS to make more children and sleep with women, but he already has a bunch of them running around, he doesn't need to have more. On the other hand Lu Cang is so faithful but he has to be the one who is hurt. It's pretty fucked up.

I m so disappointed at that part. How can Lu Cang loves him so much ╥﹏╥ he been grown up from from lousy guy to very gentle person even now he has very high tolerance to his unfaithful Jing, who never change. I like Xing Bao Er other novel, jus primae noctis. Even though it started rough, and the seme look like jing at the start, but surprisingly the story is cute and seme is not like jing at all. Different vibe from HHYL.

I didn't read fallen hero, but I started reading the other novel you named, I didn't even know that author made another one. If you are okay with modern day novels too you should read Hako no Naka (but only if you don't get too sad because of novels).
