Nope - can't see it - Misaki is just an immature and indecisive brat and does not deserve Usagi or Ijuuin, I have lost all patience with him, he has been with Usagi for more than four years, know how jealous the man gets and still tells someone he has never met that he loves him, when it took how long to admit to even having some semblance of a relationship with the person he lives with! How shallow can you get? I would tell the person whose art/writing that I love that I appreciate their works, not that I love that person - which is where the whole misunderstanding comes from. Misaki is an idiot who cannot appreciate what he has. But that is my opinion and he is my least favourite character in the entire series because of this.
I agree I would be excited to hang out with the person I admire. It's not like misaki's love for ijuuin is the same for usagi's. He rejected ijuuin and usagi's brother and told usagi that he loved him he even tried to take control and jump usagi. Besides that one character we saw that worked at the office will probably be ijuuin new love interest in the future
I agree. He didn't handle it with tact at all. If usagi had done the same misaki would be so hurt. I sometimes feel like misaki needed a serious rival just so he can get a taste of what he was doing to usagi.
His friend that graduated from college was a serious rival. Now THAT brought a kickass Misaki to light. "Usagi is mine...bitch," yes that was one of my favorite scenes. The rest leading up to that was just plain boring.

@cinnamon roll, If we are talking about being in Misaki's shoes then yes, if i get to meet with my most fav mangaka/author i would also get excited. But i would NEVER tell him "i love you", specially not in front of my lover. I'll tell him "i love YOUR WORK and i am your biggest fan". How can i be so sure? Because in RL I have actually met 1 of my fav writers. And if my lover doesn't like it then the least i could do is tone down my admiration in front of him. Well, that's just me though. To each his own, i guess.
i am agree with you Cinammon roll, I think exact the same thing about the Misaky behaviour around Injuin-sensei furthermore Misaki already rejected Insulin properly. The fact that Injuin still fights for him is only a matter of Injuin-sensei trying to seduce him, Misaki just have to remain clear and that is all.
PS:about romantica couple: My problem with Misaki is his indecisive attitude towards Usagi that hasnt change, not even after four years living together, and that irritates me a little. I feel like they will never really be a serious couple because all seems to depend of how pushy usagy is (and that fact dislike me a lot i dont like the over-pushy semes) is like Misaky really dont know what he wants so he let the situation be but not love it or dislike it. Thats why i feel that it is a forced relationship and that has nothing to do with Ijuuin-sensei or the "moving all alone" arc which I actually like. (well they were sometimes when Misaki fights for Usagi but normally he let me the feel that he isn't really on the relationship)
I am not Misaki fan, but do understand the kind of pressure is under so he bond to make mistakes. But, that doesn't make right at the same time for Misaki to be saying thee word love you and given sparkling eyes to ijuin's sensei other than Usagi San who those belong to. I think there is a small past of Misaki do have feel for ijuin's that's why he drag his feet to deal with it. I also think, if he use that energy and big mouth, and that fearless attitude he project at usagi all the time , he wouldn't have problem tell his brother about their relationship and tell usagi father to butt out of their business instead, of act like a little mice around them.
I agree with this! I mean I often said 'i love you' to my favorite celebrities and writers! But it doesnt mean i love them more than my lover and he knows that. If your boyfriend gets jealous over your celebrity crushes then he might be an immature brat seriously. Stop putting all the blame on Misaki. He rejected the guy you know.The one you should be attacking is Ijuuin who continues to be a nuisance even after getting rejected.
In Japan, (a country that often still used very formal language - unlike westerners) if you tell someone you love them it means romantically - they have three words to express love (and they are quite careful about who they express it to - as some people can be happily married for years without saying "I love you" - in Western culture we have one word "Love" to express numerous emotions, including admiration for a persons work. Misaki actually told Ijuuin that he "Like/Loved" him as a person, not that he admired the mans' works - that is where he messed up and incited not only Ijuuins' misunderstanding but also Usamis' jealousy. (Other cultures also have ways to express the difference between romantic love and admiration 'like', so unless this is a serious mistranslation, then it is entirely Misakis fault, and if my significant other told someone else that they loved that person, I think I would feel slighted too)
I'm still not convinced its a misunderstanding. But seeing as how the arc is over I can only guess the fan rage (apparently the Japanese readers also bashed Misaki) made the author decide against continuing that plot point. He has shown more love to Ijuuin than he ever did Usagi. Its why I prefer JT & JE.
How times did Misaki did that before ijuin's went crazy about him? The problem is the way he said it. Misaki said , "he don't love ijuin's but he love his work " . Would it be better if he had said what he meant to say from the start? Usami sensie told him ijuin's like him and what did Misaki said " not everyone who want to be my friend is homo ". Look at the result now. Everybody uneasy, worrying about job and how he going to handle it if he do work with the man. You use yourself as an example, it wasn't a problem with your boyfriend because of the way you said. I bet you if you did the way Misaki did, he would have a fit
Both are at fault really. No character is perfect so, yes Misaki is a grown man therefore he needs to do things on his own such as, turning down people that like him with assertiveness, no beating around the bush. And if they continue to pursue that is on them not Misaki because he rejected them with confidence instead of madly blushing, pausing and saying , "Um" I still like Misaki too but there's always need of improvement and makes great for a character development. He is at that age where he wants to do stuff independently and is really thinking of his future...in which Usami has to see and support him, instead of holding him back. Usami is scared just as Misaki, but should know that Misaki won't go anywhere he needs room to spread his wings and be successful too like Usami.Insecurity is no joke and tough, yet four years together you know communication needs to be raised more between them instead of sex and their worrisome thoughts.
And Usami is gaining more trust in Misaki which is good but I do feel like he should let him do a lot of stuff for Misaki.
I see there are good and bad things about them both.
I kinda get why Misaki still sticks with IJuuin sensei tho...I mean just imagine your fave mangaka (in my case eiichiro oda and yoneda kou) told me that they want to hang out with me. I would be ecstatic! I would surely encourage them and tell them how much i love them and their works!!! If i could do anything for them i would do it but it doesnt mean that i put them first before my lover. I mean im a fan but its entirely different you get what i mean??? Thats why for those people hating on misaki because of still sticking with ijuuin try to be on his place. Im sure we all have our fave writers/mangakas that we would like to meet and im sure we will also have a hard time if we were in misaki's shoes.
