Yes, she lost some of her Quincy power in trying to save Ichigos father - and she was temporarily hollow-fied - she would never have been able to stand up to Grand Fisher so she elected to save Ichigo instead. (from what I understood) Ichigos dad also lost some of his power at that point - which is how he stayed undetected in the human world.
thank you I see I need to reread
I thought the dad's power was continuously being used to hold the hollow ichigo back but when ichigo died-lived (whatever) he broke the spell. So the dad had retrieved his powers back, no?
Sorry
From what I remember from Ichigo's father explanation to him, that was the day the Yuha Bac took the power from the quincies who were not pure. So Ichigo's mother lost her's, because although she was a pure blood quincy, when she saved ichigo's father she was hollow-fied. So in a way Yuha killed Ichigo's mother. He also killed Ishida's mother, she was not a pure blood quincy
@Tsubaki-That's what I took from the explanation too! She should have been able to defeat Grand Fisher but because Yhwach Bac doing that spell taking the powers of the Quincey's that were not purebloods (which mom no longer was) her power was greatly diminished and that's why Grand Fisher was able to kill her. Not only did dude basically kill Ichigo's mom but definitely the reason Uryuu mom died!
ichigos mom was a quincy so why didn't she fight the grand fisher.......was this ever explained
