Yakuza's have a ritual called Yubitsume, this is the cutting off of one's finger, it's a form of penance or apology. So if your reading a manga about yakuza full of rape, drugs and brawls, this is pretty standard. And plus, Doumeki was apologising for not protecting Yashiro properly, and accepted his punishment without hesitation because he thinks he deserves this. It shows us how much love and dedication he has for Yashiro, that he was willing to cut off his finger. Also, why do you want him to revert back? Don't you want to see any character development? If Doumeki's character stayed constant it'd be boring.
yea thats true i got over the pinky part but i mean, the way he acts now, has a different feeling to it than before, cant quite explain it but it doesnt feel like love or anything. the feeling im getting is "ill do whatever you desire" liek a slave or something of the sort...
I agree he's changed but I think he's gone in the other direction. Doumeki started out as a dunderhead who did whatever he was told without thinking (to the point of taking orders far too literally,) willingly doing whatever Yashiro asked. Now he's having rather domineering thoughts about what he will and won't do, regardless of what Yashiro wants and even keeping secrets. It's all still in service to Yashiro, but it's on Doumeki's terms. At least for now.
i dont like how doumeki had cut his pinky off.... that part was too messed up for me... even if its for the one he loves. and everything after that just doesnt feel right.... how he says hell be the boss' arm n legs n that hed do anything the boss desires, i dont like the sudden changes in his character... it feels different than the beginning,, i understand after what happened after the theater but still... it doesnt have the same feeling to it, i hope he sumhow reverts back to how he was after this whole shooting incident is over.
