Im my opinion it does!!! Sure the first chapters were sad and did annoy me a bit but I read through it all an it has become one of my favorite series!!

I looked at it as if Yuri is desperate to go back to her world and family, she probably will grab every chance she get, she's scared, she's young/inexperienced, she isnot familiar with this new world. also, its kind of a technique to make Yuri's character more realistic; people have flaws and she had the brutal consequence in the form of tito's death. The death made a scar on her and it was crucial, like a phase of "growing up". It was really effective for yuri's character development and the proof is her achievements and how this manga is not your typical shoujo.
That's so true, dont know why all that hate. i mean most of the people (me too, probably) would just freak out bout all that's happening, its normal! But she standed up and actually did something. Of course, every action has a consequense, and in this case was fatal and not what she wanted but it was a learning expirience.
Totally! I'm reading some of these comments, and there is so much hate for Yuri! It seems that there are a lot of readers who don't understand that Yuri is a fifteen year old girl who is completely way out of her comfort zone. Her flaws and errors only make her more realistic. AND, she learns from her mistakes and becomes stronger. That can't be said for a lot of people. Yuri is amazing.
