I've been shipping Levi and Eren (from SnK) for a while now and I've noticed that some people hated this ship. Well, okay, you have the right to not like something, BUT I think these people are sometimes going too far and are really disrecpectful when they say :
(I chose that one argument, but of course, I know that's not the only thing that disturbs Ereri's haters. However, I'll only talk about this one)
"It's gross. How can you ship Ereri ? Eren is 15 and Levi is 30. It's pedophilia"
My answer to that : 1) you have to know the universe of SnK is different from ours. Eren and his friends are considered like adults, not like little brats.
2) I'm not sure about it, but it seems the age of consent in Japan is 13 (correct me if I'm wrong)
3) you know Ymir and Krista are canon right ? And you also know Ymir is between 70 and 80 years old (even though she looks like she's between 15 and 20). So how would Ereri be disturbing ?
What is disturbing is that some people are JUDGING other people's opinions. You have the right to not have the same point of view BUT saying things like Ereri/Riren -or whatever you call it- is gross is really disrecpectful and immature. People who says that are generally those who're imposing their opinions, thinking their ship is the best of the best and the other ones are just shit.
For me, it's not because I love Ereri I'm going to tell Eruri or Erekasa's shippers their ship is just shit. Like, I am not going to say :"ERERI IS CANON CANON CANON STOP SHIPPING EREKASA THEY'RE FAMILY ARE YOU FUCKIN SERIOUS ERERI IS THE BEST SERIOUSLY THEY'RE CANON". Besides, it's not like any of our ships will ever be canon in this manga (except for YmirxKrista). So stop judging other people and respect them.
Well, I think that's all. I just wanted to share my opinion with you. It's just that when I read those haters' comment, I feel really sad because it looks like I'm doing something bad when it's just... a ship ? So please, just calm down, guys...
I'm sorry if my English is bad and if some of the things I said are confusing.
Although I disagree that they are seen as adults in their universe (Levi calls them brats all the time and at his age you can't blame him) they basically are child soldiers. I personally dislike the ereri fandom because every time I even mention my otp (eruri) on any social platform (and i mean all of em) some damn ereri comes saying "ereri is better than ur ship it ruuuules i hate erwin blah blah".
Not to mention on Ao3(fanfic site) when you search eruri there is literally 100+ anti-eruri stories by ereri shippers it's very tiring. It's especially bad shipping eruri because alot of ereri shippers dislike how close Levi is to Erwin. So ya'll got a bad rep for a reason
HOWEVER my biggest problem with ereri hate is the dickheads who call actual human beings pedophiles for shipping a fictional couple and dedicating their lives to hating a ship for that reason even though they can use that energy to help, idk, /real/ children. That is really fucked up to me. So I agree with you on that one.
Yeah, I understand how you feel. People can really be rude sometimes... The other day, I was reading a discussion on chapter 84 and then, someone said he was happy that Erwin died because he shipped Ereri and not Eruri ! Even though I don't ship Eruri, I liked Erwin, he was a good character. It's rude to say you're happy a character died just because of your ship.
I actually think Erwin's death helped eruri because it showed just how deeply Levi cares for Erwin (Isayama said that Levi and Erwin are similar to Mikasa and Eren ;_;) that person is salty
Yea there are gross people for every ship in AOT and honestly people need to stop being petty. The pedophile thing and the Erwin hate are both fucking stupid and I'm sorry you had to deal with those type of people we need more peaceful shippers

Hey~ So, I like to ship Eren and Levi, only because they're fictional (something a lot of us forget in our devoted-ness, lol)characters . But I'd like to point out an itty-bitty mistake you made, so I can tell others not to make it too; you used 'ya'all' as is if every single Ereri shipper has conspired together as a single, uniform unit to be mean against Eruri, even though I know you never thought that. When things get heated it's really easy for terms like 'us' and 'them' to come out, encompassing large amounts of people with various opinions and intentions that may contradict the connotation associated with 'them'. It's important to remember that evil can be in anyone, just as good could be in everyone. A single person's actions cannot come to accurately represent the intentions of a collective whole.
It was way more than a single person and honestly going on a fanfic website and seeing, and I'm not exaggerating, 100+ fics where ereri fans deliberately make Erwin out of character and evil to make Eren look better and these are all separate authors and it's so bad that you have to blacklist ereri to avoid them I'm sorry but that's pretty extreme.
So there are swarms believe me I get shit from ereris on different social sites besides the OP of this thread who is honestly one of the only nice ereri shippers I've encountered. The ereri fandom is mostly antagonist from my perspective so yup I don't know what to tell you tbh sorry but "ya'll" seems accurate so I use it ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
