Couldn't agree more. Plus I think there's a reason he can't see his mother, she might be dead. Though its funny how Chouko is having ninja line up for her to be there master, though its understandable with her attitude and how she treats them (more than just a tool).

I agree, but later on you find out that is his grand uncle and not his actual father. Thought that doesn't help with the twisted physical/mental beatings.
