I think becs irl we know its acting and they aren't really dead but in anime/manga they doesnt even exist so when they die they aren't alive in another world...(idk if that make makes sense lol)
Maybe because you didn't have emotional investment with the dead person irl? Although you only had a short moment with the fictional characters, there's adequate emotional investment. Hence, you are feeling empathic on dead fictional character. Correct me if I'm wrong

I believe the artist is Sasaki Kumiko, and I think it is just an illustration. At least, I haven't been able to find out where it originated.
