I stayed up reading until 2am and immediately woke up to read it again. I loved the action/darkness-

I think the art style was a bit difficult to get used to, (I had a hard time figuring out what was going on, on certain pages) but it could have been because I was tired. And while it is such a cruel tease that there was only 1 sex scene, I think it was also very rewarding. However, I wish that ugly man who forced Izaya to use his mouth would die and suffer. I was hoping Kyo would mutilate him.

My biggest complaint was the fact that Izaya never became particularly useful, in the sense that he only ever seemed to dsitract/hold his peers back during combat by being in distress but never truly hurt(?) if that makes sense. However, in the end I think his helplessness probably adds to the affection that Kyo feels for him.

Also, their parting words: "I won't die until I do you." Oh, Kyo, such a romantic.

Anyways. While this manga has its flaws, I got hooked on it really quickly and loved the action/plot in spite of it!

This will be the end of me, I swear... I can't take it. I saw the raws and I was still unprepared.

...On another note, I have now been informed, by my own brain, that biting is apparently also one of my kinks. Well, to be honest I knew that to begin with, but-- Seriously, even when jiwook bites our tae min? Have a little tact, me.

alinmango's questions ( All 21 )

alinmango October 18, 2017 6:26 am

So, it may be no surprise, but I have an affection for things like biting, choking, hitting, etc. when it comes to sex; I have been this way for as long as I can remember. Let me explain.

Even as a child, (yes, I know, scary) I have liked it when the characters/people that I admire in a TV show/book/cartoon are harmed in some way. I liked it when Daphne got tied up on Scooby Doo... and so on.

Currently, my weird fantasies have been given an outlet in these strange and lovely mangas/manhwas that I read, so I'm very happy. But I have to wonder... why is it that I turned out this way? I have a few theories, but I can't be certain about anything because I'm not a psychologist. So I want your opinions.

What do you think shaped your physical interests? Personally, I think it's because I was watching a show about crime at a very young age, and there were a few risque scenes in the dramatizations that often got rough and violent. I think my weird fantasies started to pop up around the same time, so this is the safest conclusion I've come to so far.

Oh, and I should probably include a disclaimer: I've never once found any sort of pleasure in hurting real people, or watching real people get hurt. Especially as a child. I was very empathetic and, no, I didn't run around killing the neighborhood animals or anything like that... As far as I know, I'm perfectly sane (in the sense that I don't want to bring anyone harm or watch other people do it). My kinks are strictly fantasy.

    ... One More Thing.

The reason I ask is because I'm curious if anyone else has had a similar experience. I always thought I was weird for having these thoughts, but I've grown enough to know that I'm definitely not alone... at least in terms of the weird kinks. So to those who do enjoy a bit of rough play, or anything really, why do you think you grew up to like what you like?

well even I can't say anything bcz it's been a year since I have started to make a story , u see I kill every character so brutally and if ever I think of them being a couple or friends I kill them more brutally I don't get satisfied until all of them aren't dead , I just don't , the worst part is that every character is a person from my school most of them my friends and I hate how I don't feel sorry for it , even my friends r now scared of me except one bcz she is like me, though she kills all military people while I kill normal people like a guy would be just walking back to his home and bam I killed him sometimes it's just that I want everyone dead even in real life (sorry if I scared u )

I think you're perfectly fine! And while I'm not a psychological either, I do agree and think that it stems from what our minds pay attention to more as a kid. Examples (from other people and myself) being the snake and Mogly scene from the Jungle Book, murder/crime dramas, etc. I think it's mostly.. Luck, to put it in weird terms, lol. Some people pay more attention to females than they do males. Some vice versa. It's called preference. Is there a scientific explaination for what drives our individual preferences? .... Probably not. But this is the best I have for you!

I think I am a masochist. I tend to be aggressive and can be quite a sadist, but I secretly enjoy seeing someone and imagine myself getting rough treatment during sex. I also read rape and slave tags because it arouses me, yet irl I do hate the fact that rape is a crime. I am not sure if this can be linked to my childhood.

On the other hand, people think I am lesbian because I adore girls so much and I also cut my hair in pixie. I am not, in fact I do get sexually attracted by men. This might be linked to my childhood since I met annoying and useless men at young age. I never show favoritism to men, Í think it's not worth my time. I am not a feminist and don't have romantic feelings towards female. I also don't have any problem to interact with male. It's just that, men don't get anything near to affection that the female get. (I think I'm getting sidetrack lol)

Thanks! I was worried that someone was going to bust out the handcuffs (which I would unfortunately like). Also, when you refer to the snake and Mogly scene, what do you mean? I have never seen the jungle book... (⌒▽⌒)

Youre not alone with the weird kinks. I feel happy when I see people in pain. Not physical pain but psychological pain. I feel pleasure to watch a person suffer from their unrequited love.Just to see his sad face, i rejected the guy i like and acted like i dont like him. Well at least your kink doesnt affect your real life ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

u r overthinking it. this is just fantasy, most of us will never get turned on in real life by these and hurt people. i like those mangas too, but in real life i like fluffy sweet relationships. lol

Do you rate the mangas that you add to your list? If so, what is your thought process?

For me, most of my mangas are 3-stars. I've never given anything 1 star before... but I've come close. Probably because if I really don't like them, I don't want to bother with adding them to my list.

So this is how my process goes.

1- N/A (not even worth evaluating)

2- Some potential, but overall dull and cliche.

3- A bit cliche, but cute. Art is decent.

4- Will definitely reread again and again! Either in need of more chapters or more sex, but a great work of art one way or another. This is where I put great doujinshis sometimes.

5- Usually manhwas/shonen mangas fit into this category. Pretty much everything that I'm looking for depending on the genre; sex, action, art, plot.

    1-terrible

2- also terrible/just bad, but I was in an okay mood (my most common rating :')

    3- okay/good

4- as good as it gets/great (only my favorites get this rating)

5- unnatainable (perfect stories don't exist)

  • Lelee October 11, 2017 9:05 pm

Yeah we think the same way. I usually give three, four or five stars. Three are just like, okay it was nice. Four are those I liked and will reread. Five are those I will definitely remember and reread lot's of times.

I have some kind of point list (or stars)
    for ok - 0 / good +1, great+2/ bad-1, worst -2
I 'evaluate' art/drawing, plot or storyline, the story itself, characters, also the genre (you can't compare bi no isu with jappa no amane) thats how I do it :)

Honestly I don’t even rate sometimes I do if I really like the story but I always forget x

  • Lynn October 11, 2017 10:06 pm

I've never given anything below a 3 star because once I start reading something, I'm usually determined to read it to the end. Only times I drop a manga is because I've found something more interesting to read and not because I hated it.

Anyways, my 3-5 star ratings go like this:

3- Meh, not as interesting as I thought it was or the ending could have been done better but not terrible overall. I don't hate it.

4- I like this and enjoyed reading it. Would I read it again? Maybe. Might recommend this to others. (Most of my ratings fall into this)

5- I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!! 10/10 WILL REREAD AGAIN AND AGAIN! WILL RECOMMEND THIS!

I mark everything I ever read as 'read' so I don't accidentally read boring ones twice.
Mangas that I think are worth re-reading I tag with what it's about.
I only use the star system with mangas I absolutely love or truly hate, which I give five stars and one star respectively.
I've only used the stars about six times altogether.

    For me it's :

1- I dislked it really badly, even hated it. Wish I could forget about it.

    2- Disappointed

    3- Ok, but wouldn't re-read it

4- Liked it/ Loved it (I think most of the things I read are rated this, since I'm picky and look at the comments/convos/tags before starting) - On my re-read list.

5- Fav ! Loved it ! I can read them again and again.

No stars : When I'm confused about wether or not I liked it and can't decide on a rating, so I put nothing until the time I have the courage to read them again and maybe make a choice.

  • Anonymous October 12, 2017 10:29 am

0 - I don't left it blank because I would confuse myself for forgetting to rate it.

1 - Shitty and not worth my time. I would rate minus or throw it away

2 - Almost shitty, but can improve.

    3 - Average. Easily forgotten.

4 - I liked it but would likely not read it again. I had fun and enjoy reading it.

5 - Favourite. I could read again and recommend without hesitation.

My list: Definitely will read again. Personal favourite and have a soft spot in my kokoro.
